I’m using Got Friends Discus-2c together with Kinetic Assistant. Since last update of MSFS and the Discus things are not running so smoothly. It was actually running better before the last update.
Problem 1:
Sometimes the person holding the wing during take-off does not let go of the wing. Even after take-off one can see the person running below the plane. This also prevents the ailerons to work properly and usually ends in a crash.
Problem 2:
The integration of the Kinetic Assistant airplane towing was better before the last update. Before I could use the menu inside the cockpits display to call the tow plane. Now I have to do that on the Kinetic Assistant application externally.
Problem 3:
This one was already before the last update. When inserting the tow plane. It rotates around it’s own axis. If not using full brakes during insert the glider gets pushed towards the to plane and eventually the cable is detached.

The Discus-2c is now fully native and supports Asobo Glider Launch Options and Built-In Winch/Multiplayer Tow options from our team.
Kinetic Assistant is still supported but not managed by our team. I would try to get in touch with Touching Cloud. Regardless, I highly recommend switching to a Native Launch Option as Kinetic Assistant is now redundant except for specific use cases.
That’s kind off the issue. I want to choose my towing plane type. At my airfield we use the robin 400 for towing. Which cannot be chosen with MSFS native towing. Also, with Kinetic Assistant is the only way I know how to use recorded routes that reflects real towing routes at my local airport. If it would be possible to at least define the route the native towing planes fly would be one issue solved.
It was probably to early to deprecate Kinetic Assistant.
I tried to get in touch with Touching Cloud but they are not too responsive.
My probem is that the wilga towing me often decides not to accelerate and stops halfway up the runway … it seems to be pot luck as restarting sometimes works and sometimes not.
The only real complaints I have is there’s no state saving of the canopy tint which I really prefer not to use and that ballast is not empty by default.
I also sometimes have that problem with the MSFS towing plane suddenly stopping or not accelerating fast enough. But I think that issue was addressed and should be fixed with the last release.
