Product Receipt in the Marketplace

If your Microsoft/Xbox Account already given access to an addon from the marketplace (ie. you can install them using the content manager), then that’s the proof that you have purchased the product.

But what if it doesn’t?
What if MS some day decides to remove an addon from the Marketplace?
I remember reading one user in the forum who bought an addon using credits that they paid for via steam, but neither did they have the credits nor did they gain access to the addon. It took Community Managers to escalate this until it got solved.

Of course you don’t need a proof if everything goes smoothly. But once it doesn’t it’s when such a proof is literally worth money.

Also third parties could get a proof of purchase via Marketplace to provide support to customers.

Then your proof… just goes poof…

This is why I filed a support ticket, and got support to give me confirmation of what items I had purchased. That way I have an itemized list from the horse’s mouth.

There have been cases of users that after purchase the addon didn’t appear in their accounts or had access issues like in the linked issue. There’s not enough redundancy there. Having an email receipt is a basic provision that should be there.
