Propeller animation broken in all Pilatus PC-6

The propeller animation is broken on all the Pilatus PC-6 aircraft, both in 2D and VR. its just a static mesh.


Can confirm. This is the static mesh shown.

They’ve broken the blur mesh somehow. A quick and dirty fix while awaiting the final version of SU8 is to make the model use only the slow blur mesh.
Open pc6.xml in

\Official\OneStore\microsoft-aircraft-pilatus-pc6\SimObjects\Airplanes\Microsoft_Pilatus_PC6_Gauge_Wheels\model (or equivalent for Steam)
and find these lines:

	<Component ID="ENGINE">
		<UseTemplate Name="ASOBO_ENGINE_Propeller_Template">
			<ID>1</ID>
			<MIN_RPM_FOR_SLOW>143</MIN_RPM_FOR_SLOW>
			<MIN_RPM_FOR_BLUR>287.5</MIN_RPM_FOR_BLUR>

Then just bump the min rpm value to a ridiculously high value eg:
<MIN_RPM_FOR_BLUR>1000287.5</MIN_RPM_FOR_BLUR>

Not perfect but better than a static mesh. Need to be done for all the aircraft variants you use.

Thanks for the workaround. This topic has been tagged with bug-logged so maybe it will be fixed soon since I assume it’s an easy/quick thing for the devs to fix?

The bug is still persistent after SU8

I would be surprised if it is fixed before SU9, but maybe a fix will slip in for the next World Update.

This is not a good look (literally or figuratively), especially for such an iconic plane. It’s incredibly amateurish.

Just when I was looking forward to flying a ‘complete’ PC-6 after they’d fixed the previous problems I’m leaving it alone once again because of the other immersion-breaking bugs they’ve inexplicably introduced (I don’t know what they were trying to do with the prop animation - it worked fine before :thinking:) while fixing the older ones
 :expressionless::expressionless::expressionless: It would be funny if it weren’t the product of a multi-billion dollar company :joy: Oh well, at least the bug is ‘logged;’ I guess I can wait until the next World Update or SU9 :rofl:

I also found a typo in “SIDE_BLUE” but fixing it didn’t help.

confirming the prop animation is broken - past low RPM the blade spin freezes but the prop hub is rotating

It seems somewhat better in SU9 beta. What do you guys think? I didn’t see it mentioned in the release notes.

I flew the garmin model and it was partially fixed. Still not a very good animation, looks cheezy, but not static anymore at least.

Just tested, still pretty bad even if not static. It’s like they can’t be bothered.

Still broken in SU9? Animation is terrible.
Filed a bug rep to zendesk, just to add one more.
