Provide an Option to Toggle ATC/Communications Panel

The UI in 2020 has a Toggle ATC Window function.

2024 only has the option to display the ATC/Communcations window and no way to dismiss it with a control binding.

Please revise this to be like it is with 2020.

Hi,

There is a toggle option actually, but one of these is a show only the other is a toggle.

Search for “Open communication panel” Toggle

Don’t use “Display ATC” Show only

Ah, I made the dumb assumption that seeing as that says “Open…” that it wouldn’t also close.

In both the TechAlpha and my late access to the DevAlpha,I mapped the ATC panel to the old FSX key (~) as well as the same button on my VKB as I did in FS2020, and it works okay. :+1:

The problem with that is that the communications panel isn’t really a replacement for the ATC panel. It only allows you to select whatever option the sim expects you to at the moment. You can’t select nearest airport list, runway for departure, or anything like that. It looks like that’s meant more for use in missions.

I have yet to actually see an ATC panel. The only one any of the control bindings opens is the Communications panel.

I’ve already added a wishlist item for them to fix the ATC window to show all available choices, as now it is highly cumbersome to use.

Yeah, you’re right, would have sworn I had the old school atc panel but it looks like the communications panel just changes contextually and doesn’t always offer all the choices it used to.

Has this been solved?.. I can’t get the ATC to dismiss like it did in 2020

Illogically the command that says toggle only opens but this one that says open is actually a toggle.

I press the “`” to display ATC and it does display…press it again and the ATC remains. Doesn’t work for me like in 2020… can’t figure out why it won’t toggle. I’ve checked all key bindings for conflicts…

Assign Open Communication Panel instead of Toggle ATC. As I said above the Open command Toggles but the Toggle command, which worked in 2020, will only open the panel. Who knows why it was changed.
