PS5 DualSense controller is not recognized by MSFS 2024.
Windows 11 recognizes the controller.
It shows up under Devices.
If I go to the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers, it shows up as “DualSense Wireless Controller” and all the axis and buttons are working under the test tab of the Wireless Controller properties.
In MSFS 2024, it does not show up in the list of controllers.
(MSFS 2024 sees my joystick, throttle, pedals, TrackIR, mouse, and keyboard.)
Steam recognizes the controller.
How do I make MSFS 2024 see my DualSense controller?

you might have to use DS4Windows…
thats at least how I got it to work for my DualShock. which worked very well.
though in the end, I’ll admit, I found it easier to bite the bullet and get an xbox controller. but used DS4Windows for a while to get me going.

I used it for my DualShock controller in MSFS 2020. However, something got updated at some point and I no longer needed DS4Windows to use the DualShock in MSFS 2020. It had been working without DS4Win installed for quite a while, but then the DualShock controller died. I bought a DualSense (PS5) controller, naively thinking it would work. I was angry to find it didn’t work with 2024 or 2020.
Unfortunately, Microsoft still seems to be trying to force everyone to xbox.
It is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that a controller recognized by Windows, which also seamlessly works with Stream and DCS on my PC, will not be recognized by MSFS 2020 or 2024!
Let’s be clear, this isn’t some obscure type of controller that Microsoft has chosen to not bother to let work with MSFS, it is the standard controller for PS5, the most popular game console on the market.

Microsoft is purposefully blocking the PlayStation 5 controller. They have to do this voluntarily because the controller is detected by Windows as a generic device. Unlike the PS4 controller, the PS5 controller is fully compatible with Windows. However, MSFS 2024 is ignoring it to force you to buy another controller. This is unacceptable.
guys i found the solution, in ds4 windows app, go to edit controller settings

in emulated controller select xbox controller, dont forget to apply!!
