There are mixed reviews when it comes to the HOTAS 4, some say it is okay but others are not too impressed. I have the T.Flight HOTAS 1 and Rudder Pedals and they are fine, but I only use them for Helis, as I have the V1 yoke for fixed wing.
Given the movement on Helis is very gentle and slow, my T.Flight gear has not been heavily used, so I have encountered not issues.
Has anyone got any recommendations, or will he HOTAS 4 be sufficient?
Hotas 4 is the only controller besides the ps5 one that currently is available. I expect that given time the companies will make others. Basically no other choice right now.
Personally i would wait for another 3rd party option.
I have owned 3 TM Hotas for xbox, 2 of the black version and 1 of the white FS editions.
They are very poorly made and will wear out very quickly with regular use. The internal components are as cheap as they could aquire and lubricated with terrible grease so that they clog them selfs up with their own debris and your pre flight checklist will have to include their dismantling each time to ensure short term functionality.
Hopefully Turtle Beach will provide a worth while options soon.
I wish this wasnt the case with TM peripherals for console but unfortunately they are built cheap to keep you buying replacements.
Has anyone tried using a Series X/PC flight setup on a PS5 to see if any adapters work ahead of the MSFS2024 release on PS5?
I’m new to flight sims, but I’m familiar with Brookman Wingman adapters, Santroller-style devices for Guitar Hero controllers, and other pico-based adapters. I’m also surprised no company has announced any PS5-compatible flight controls yet.
We’ve been told the Hotas 4 is the only peripheral to be used until a company makes others. If you have a workaround, I’m sure sharing it on here would be welcome. Pics would be great. Many of us don’t have a ps5 but for those who do, and they don’t have to buy cheap tat to play, they would love every bit of help.
Why buy the xbox version when the PS5 version of Thrustmasters Hotas already works?
Its not great but its your only option right now.
The xbox version is NOT PS5 COMPATIBLE. Thats why there are the 2 versions, 1 for xbox & pc the other for Playstation.
Simple
Looks like this only works with a PS-2. It does not state PS5 so taking a risk to get this might be chasing a dream for PS5. It might also mess with the settings in MSFS 2024, I wouldn’t take a chance.
Jorge gave a hint that at the next dev show, I think in March 26, that there might be some peripheral devs showing off their wares. Honeycomb Echo is supposed to be being made console functional. However, it’s still all a frustrating mystery.
I would not get excited about this. Thrustmaster have the licence for FS compatible hardware for console, their products are terrible.
The only reason Turtle Beach got a yolk to market is because it is also PC compatible.
As far as HOTAS goes Thrustmaster will probably be your only option unless Sony negotiate otherwise with MS to allow other companies to access the coding.
Honeycomb are also PC cross compatible, Sony stuff is NOT compatible with PC so less room to bargain.
Remember, MS are in it for the money, NOT for your enjoyment.
As a perviously long term xbox player (7000hrs), learn to get good with a controller, mouse & keyboard as cheap Thrustmaster junk is ultimately built to destroy itself as you use it. Even their updated Flightsim special version of their HOTAS is bad, basically just a polished â– â– â– â– .
