So I use MSFS 2020 on my PC and not X BOX. It attempting to access MSFS I now see a screen that states “Press any Button to Start” (there is also an announcement to do the same.
My pressing a button does nothing! I cannot get updates nor can I now access MSFS 2020. I enjoy what MSFS has to offer but do not like not being able to because something has been done to prevent me from entering on my PC. Any assistance appreciated

Your PC ? I would say try shutdown via Start menu and switch it on again… do you have a normal startup ? Can you start MSFS ?

I read this fix and find its too complicated for me. So whenever I get this problem ( once every 2 months or so) I simply do a quick windows restore to a restore point a day or two earlier. two clicks and 4 min wait and its done
done that half a dozen times now without problem

That message existed in the earliest builds of MSFS.

I think removing it was one of the earliest big wins of the Wishlist forum.

Thank you for the suggestion. I started a restore but received an error that there was some file that, apparently, did not want to restore. Now MSFS will not start.

So I attempted a Restore as suggested and received a error that system could not Restore due to a file. Now MSFS has been deleted from my system. When I attempt to re-install to my PC, it want me to Open XBox at this URL https://www.xbox.com wants to open this application. When I select open, nothing happens. Again, any assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

I would never do a reinstall/restore unless you absolutely have to.
What you ran into is often the result!

This can be quite hard to fix at times, but with some luck, this may be the solution.
Try this:
Sign out of the xbox app on your PC, and shut down Xbox app.
Sign out of MS Store App, and shut down same.
Reboot computer.
Open and sign into Xbox app.
Open and sign into MSStore.
