Quest 2 Runtime openXR (new to VR)

I recently purchased a gaming laptop for flight simulator and ideally vr flight sim. The oculus app has a built in runtime openXR. Do I still need to go through Regedit to finalize the setup ? Performance is sometimes good and other times not so great. Clarity is questionable (85 res in game, 1.2 in ODT, 1.3x 90hz oculus app).

Settings: mix between high and medium.

Laptop specs:
Gpu: 3080 mobile
CPU: i9
Ram: 32gb
SSD card

Any help and recommendation is appreciated, thank you in advance!

The truth is that nobody really knows.
Ran few test with and without registry modification and did not see stable results.
Have tried everything i could possibly think of / find, all the videos i could but, still the same.
Hoping DX12 “might help” stabilise things but i doubt it.
Hopefully in a year it will be a different story, for now i pass.

No. You can set Oculus OpenXR Runtime as active in the app’s General settings.

I use Virtual Desktop with my Quest 2. It just works smoother for me. I get fairly good performance.
