Hi, Quest 3 users, I have been looking for a way to turn off hand tracking in VR. It’s so annoying. keeps activating controls and buttons, and sunvisors and windows. I just want them turn off, I don’t need the VR hands.
I search hi and lo on the internet and this is my last resort.
Thanks

Yeah same here I use a HOTAS setup and every time I touch the joystick the digital controller shows up. Very annoying. I too have searched but cannot find any information on how to turn it off.
Maybe try removing the controller batteries. You may get an error message but once you are in the Sim, this disappears.
I’m taking it that you have since found the option, in the Quest 3 settings, to enable/disable hand tracking?
I’m a fairly new Quest 3 owner, so not sure how long that option has existed, but it is certainly there now.
I had actually deliberately turned it on, to see how well, or not, hand tracking might work in an MSFS cockpit, and suffice it to say, I turned it off again pretty quickly.

If you use VD you can turn on and off this things in the settings
Hand tracking isn’t supported well by the sim but the controllers work great, especially when you bind function to the thumb sticks for dialing up and down, so no need for the broken grab-and-rotate function but point at the knob and use the stick to dial up or down
I’d resigned myself to using the mouse, as because I prefer to use physical stick and throttle controllers, being able to find the VR controllers is just too much of a pain.
Having them strapped to my wrist wouldn’t work for me, but maybe if there was a way to “holster” them to either the arms of my chair or to the controller base(s) might work??
how exactly would you go about that? which control binding in sim allows you to do that? that would be great instead of that jerky grab and rotate
Try this:
I made it for folks struggling with getting the correct bindings. It was made with a Q2, but should work with the 3, also. Also check out the secondary/tertiary bindings that allow you to push/pull knobs (like in an airbus).
Hope this helps you!

I will check that out, thank you!

This
In addition I also bound the camera movement to the left thumb stick so i can move around in the cockpit like in a regular VR game

Oh good call!! I only ever use the right controller, but if I used the left, that’s what I would do, too! (I have camera movements bound to a hat switch on my sidestick currently).
Great idea!!!
I can’t find a solution either. The hand tracking kicks in whilst my hand is on the hotas and it interferes with my mouse cursor. In IL2 and other flight games I only have a mouse available and it works just fine.
I just want a mouse-keyboard-and-joystick-only interface.
Anyone have a clues?
thanks
Which setting is this?
“Use touch input”?
Just got a Quest 3, it’s already incredible but I’m using a HOTAS and the hand tracking is driving me nuts. Can I just my mouse as a default
Hi DoomedWings28,
There are two ways to do this. The first is to turn off hand tracking on Quest 3’s settings. The other way is to turn off Hand Tracking in VD in the settings menu under ‘‘input’’ You’ll see it as a tick box.
