Question about a material used in the cockpit of a real Airbus

Hi and a nice evening to you all,

again it´s a question similar to another topic of mine where I have said that a few Fly By Wire Airbus textures are “ugly and looked better in the original Asobo Airbus A32X Neo cockpit”.

Because all the other textures are so fine I was curious about this problem and did some research to find out if I maybe could do some better texturing for these specific parts on my own. And found an ultra HD photography of the real Airbus overhead panel, and now I think the Fly By Wire team has made this textures relatively realistic so please excuse if I said it looked like molten lava or styrofoam - now I now that these textures somehow should look like this.

But still I am curious because I have never before seen such a plastic or metal or whatever this is - can someone please tell me what material this is, is this some kind of leather of worn-out plastic?
What exactly is this strange looking material used in some parts inside the cockpit which for example is like a dark grey leathery frame around the overhead panel of the Airbus?

Thanks in advance and have a great flight

It’s plastic which is very firm but surface is soft, it’s made to look like dark blue leather, it’s glued to metal.
