Questions about Beyond ATC, Navigraph and AIRAC

Hello,

i have a few few questions, hoping that somebody can answer them.

I am currently using Beyond ATC with msfs2024 and simbrief.
Now I wanted to try Navigraph for routeplanning and i like the integration in the EFB and PFD etc.

My questions now are:

Does Navigraph update the AIRAC in the sim?
Do I remember correctly that Beyond ATC is using the AIRAC out of the sim?
If Navigraph “updates” the Sim-AIRAC, will BeyondATC use the new AIRAC?

For expample: If I plan a route with Navigraph with the newest AIRAC and there are new STARs or SIDs, will BeyondATC “know” them?

And my last question is about flighplans:
Right now I plan my flights with simbrief, because BeyondATC connects with Simbrief and “pulls” the flightplan from simbrief.

If I plan my flight with Navigraph, will my FLP also be available in simbrief?

I know, a lot of questions, but I am happy about any response!

Thank you.

A couple of things here.

Simbrief and Navigraph are essentially one-in-the-same. Navigraph “owns” Simbrief, so if you are planning in Simbrief, you are using your Navigraph subscription.

Also, Navigraph completely replaces the in-sim nav data, so yes, Navigraph data is used, and stock sim data is not used and not available to other programs that use the sim API to get nav data.

Perfect, thank you for your response!

I think I’ll try out Navigraph today.

One thing to be aware of is that Navigraph doesn’t alter scenery data, just AIRAC. BeyondATC reads the in-sim scenery data for taxiways. So if you try to follow BeyondATC taxi instructions while reading a Navigraph taxiway chart, you may find the taxiways and labels don’t match.
You’ll want to still look at the in-sim taxi signs or with a map application that can read the sim scenery data to display airport maps for you (e.g. Sky4sim or Little Navmap)

Thank you for your response.

Currently I am using the inbuilt taximap from Beyond ATC.

But maybe I‘ll take a look at LittleNavMap for higher immersion.

Edit: Typo

When you say “I plan my flight with Navigraph”, you mean in the Navigrap Charts app; is that right?
If so, you should know that the flight planned in the Navigraph Charts app is not automatically imported into Simbrief and cannot be exported there directly with one click. So if you do nothing else, BATC will not know about the flight you just planned.
In any case, you will have to open SimBrief and plan your flight there again, but you can copy the route description in the Charts app and then paste it into the route box in SimBrief. In this respect, planning the flight in the Navigraph Charts app does not bring any advantages for you if you have only done this in SimBrief so far.
Of course, the Navigraph Charts app allows you to plan the flight route in more detail and, in particular, to take the STAR and approach into account. However, you should be aware that BATC may assign you a different STAR and a different approach.
You can also use the Charts app very well as a moving map.
I, however, usually plan my flights in Little Navmap. From there I can export them to SimBrief with one click. And Little Navmap also works very well as a moving map.

Hello,

Yes I am using the Navigraph Charts app.
I like the design, the ability to look at the origninal charts and the flight planning all in one app. Like you said, the best solution is to copy the route via the route description and paste it into simbrief. But that’s fine for me.

Maybe I’ll try out Little Navmap, too, I’ve read many good reviews about it.

Thank you for your response!

Edit: Forgot to answer your question

Ohh right… The BATC in-sim panel doesn’t display it so I forgot that existed lol

There is an in-sim panel for Beyond ATC?

The only thing I know is that you can click on “always” on top.
I’m using a second montior for Beyond ATC and all that stuff, but that in-game panel sounds interesting.

They call it the “VR Toolbar” since it’s mostly for VR users who can’t see anything outside the virtual space with the headset on.
It’s more limited than the main application window, and if you’re using the main window on a second monitor already that’s likely better.
