Hello everyone,
I’m currently programming my new Winctrl ORION 2 MAX joystick for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. I’ve finally finished configuring it for aircraft, and now I’d like to do the same for helicopters. However, since WinWing doesn’t have a basic preset in MSFS, like the MSFS 2024 Transversal, I’ll have to reconfigure everything from scratch for helicopters. This will take me hours again.
I understand that helicopters are handled separately from aircraft profiles in the simulator, with different controls and profiles.
So, my question is: Is it possible to export an existing aircraft profile from MSFS and import it as a new profile for helicopters? Specifically, I’m interested in the General Controls profile (button assignments on the joystick for all aircraft, including helicopters) and the Aircraft Controls profile (axis and button assignments for specific aircraft and aircraft types, such as 2-engine, 4-engine, and different reverse thrust logics).
Which of these two profiles could be imported from the aircraft profiles to the helicopters? What steps would be necessary to ensure it works without overwriting anything on the aircraft side, since the profile already exists there? Is it just a matter of copying an existing profile in the aircraft section and renaming it to helicopter? Can I then just export it and import it into the helicopter controls?
If it’s not possible at all, I’ll have to grit my teeth and completely reconfigure everything for the helicopters.
I’m extremely grateful for any tips and help you can provide. I would greatly appreciate your support.
