Questions on side monitor FPS!

So, I have a
Win 11
Motherboard: ASUS Z790 PRIME
CPU: I9-13900K
RAM: Corsair - 48 GB 7000
GRAPHICS: Asus TUF GAMING OC Edition GeForce RTX 4090 24GB
HD: Samsung nVme 2TB
Sound: Onboard Realtec + Soundblaster Audigy 5
MONITOR: 3X 43" Sony 4K TV’s
RealSimGear G1000 Suite
HoneyComb ALPHA & BRAVO Yoke & Throttle
Logitech Rudder Pedals
Next Level Racing Cockpit seat with BUTTKICKER
ALESIS Dual M1 ACTIVE Mk2 Powered Sound Monitors

Just like in 2020, I have always had issues getting the two side TV’s to have a decent frame rate.
Now, I can use Frame Gen on the center / main TV but on the side TV’s my FPS is always really low. I have tried lowering the Resolution on the side TV’s but still do not get decent FPS! PLUS, if I maintain 3840 resolution, my refresh rate is always stuck at 60hz. ( 1980 res can be set to 120hz. )
Does anyone have a similar setup where you have your side TV’s / Monitors giving decent FPS without stutter?

Sorry, I have no solution for you - but I was wondering: wouldn’t it make sense to give this thread another topic? This one doesn’t let me expect a specific question about ones setup issues but more likely something like “show your home cockpits”.
Or did you just look for an opportunity to tell the community some detail about your pretty expensive stuff - since you just updated the list with much more detail that does not affect your issue for sure.

I will change the title however to assume on your part that I am an arrogant show off just shows what you are.

hiya -interested as i have not dissimilar setup (not that ill put the list here or i’ll get shaded by someone for it  ) - two questions if i may! 3 x 55” monitors - think i’m running 4k front and 2k sides but need to check. 1. would love to share graphics / driver settings to see what we’re both running and 2. very tempted by buttkicker - would you recommend or not - can’t decide! thanks Tim

Yeah, that SCIP dude just had to throw the TROLL card out there, didn’t he? If he had read the post, he would have seen the part where I said “ANYONE WITH A SIMILAR SETUP”!

ANYWAY… I started using the nVidia app so that I can use the “latest” DLSS settings. I too am running 3840X2160 on the front monitor and 1920X1080 on the side monitors. My issue as stated was that while FRAME GEN is available on the front / main monitor, I can still detect a lower frame rate on the side ones. Here are my nVidia Control Panel settings. I just did a clean install of the new nVidia driver, so it reset everything to default. I did change a couple of items as you can see but if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

YES, GET the Buttkicker. I never fly without it

3 monitors is tough. Have you used the in game fps widget thing in dev mode to see if you are CPU bound or GPU bound? I had a 13600K and 7900xtx video card (on fs2020) and was CPU bound. I upgraded to a 9800x3d and it improved my framerate a bit, to the point I’m now GPU bound.

No frame gen, game is relatively smooth now most of the time but I think there’s some situations where the sim is buggy enough that you could have 10x the hardware and it just had issues. Landing fbw a320 at BWI the other day, I started getting stutters on landing and it continued during taxiing. I didn’t pay attention on exact metrics because I was doing vatsim and trying not to do my normal horrible landing for once

I’ve not checked the performance in the sim lately. I am doing some SU3 stuff with it now and will check when I’m done

I checked this and am getting RED in the VRAM part as you can see. Not sure of the cause. Any idea?

Are you talking about the allocs/frame near the bottom (no idea on that), or the red top section? I’m still on 2020 so I don’t know the 2024 stuff as well. 58fps isn’t bad at all on 3 monitors, depending on if you’re closer to the ground / complex environment or not.

The “LIMITED BY GPU section. Isn’t this supposed to be green?

The only things I’ve ever really looked at are the CPU rate, GPU rate, and sometimes I look at VRAM usage but I have a card with plenty of VRAM and you do too. Right now the important thing is it’s showing you as GPU bound, with the CPU taking 19ms to draw a frame and the GPU taking 28ms to draw a frame. You could get better performance by dropping your resolution or adjusting other settings that affect the GPU (if you’re not happy with your current framerate). There’s threads that detail that kind of stuff, you can search for them and try some of that out.

Your VRAM usage looks fine mate, you’re only using 11gb out of 22gb.

Yeah, I see that but was wondering why the “LIMITED BY GPU” is showing below the big FPS Box. I lowered TLOD down and it did flash to green but now it’s right back into the red.

Do you think maybe my nVidia CP settings are not correct? Can either of you show me what you have your GLOBAL and FS24 nVidia Control Panel settings are? ALSO… I wonder if having parts of the SIM downloaded to my Hard Drive has anything to do with it?

its showing limited by GPU because thats the limiting factor on your system given the MSFS settings you’re running. Your main thread timing is 19ms however your GPU timing is 28ms…. I.e your main thread (CPU) is performing faster than your GPU and thus your GPU is the limiting factor at that point in time.

Lowering your OLOD and TLOD is largely going to effect your main thread (CPU) timings, not GPU timings. There are a bunch of other settings in there that you can improve your GPU timings should you wish to explore those….but thats a topic for another day.

In any event, your VRAM isn’t an issue based on what you’ve posted here.

OK, That’s a great bit on info… thank you. I will look into lowering the GPU load.
