Hi everyone,
I’m trying to configure my camera views in MSFS 2024 (Flex Monitor) for a more realistic cockpit workflow, and I’ve run into a limitation that I think could be improved.
What I’m looking for is a quick lateral view (left/right) that behaves like this:
-
When I press a button → the view moves to the side (e.g. 60–90°)
-
When I release the button → the view returns automatically to center
-
No zoom applied at all
At the moment, I see two options, but neither does exactly what I need:
-
Quick views (left/right)
-
Return to center when released -
Apply an unwanted zoom effect
-
-
Locked / blockable views (cockpit left/right)
-
No zoom (this is perfect) -
Allow smooth/manual positioning -
Do NOT return to center automatically
-
So right now I’m forced to choose between:
-
correct behavior (return to center) but wrong visual (zoom), or
-
correct visual (no zoom) but wrong behavior (no auto-return)
What I would ideally like is:
A “quick lateral view without zoom”
(or an option to disable zoom in the existing quick views)
This would be especially useful for those of us using physical cockpits or hardware setups, where quick glance left/right is essential.
My questions are:
-
Is there any way to achieve this with current settings that I may be missing?
-
If not, would it be possible to implement:
-
a toggle to disable zoom in quick views, or
-
a new command for “momentary lateral view (no zoom)”?
-
I think this would greatly improve usability and realism.
Thanks in advance!
