Quick question about A321LR range

So, the A320 and A321LR have the same listed range in the aircraft details on MSFS 2024. Is this accurate? I had thought the A321LR should have a range closer to 5,000 miles instead of 3,500 miles?

What is the actual range of the A321 that is in the sim? I’m also on a PS5, so I don’t have mod/addon capabilities beyond what is available in the marketplace.

I believe the range for the A321LR variant is 4,000 nm and the A321XLR is 4,700 nm. The A320 should be 3,500 nm.

That is interesting. If you look at their FMC and pilot’s tablet they modeled for standard edition of 2024 A320-200 with max fuel 19050 kg and A321-200 with max fuel 26443 kg planes. Why do they call it A321 LR I have no idea, may be it is:) and they have to update their FMC?
Actually their ranges has to be like this, in the table you can select different versions and compare them. Do not forget that for LR version a lot depends on how many fuel tanks are installed.

A320

A321

That’s interesting! Quick question though, is that table you have linked accurate? It lists the A320 range as being longer than the A321.

Thank you!

Values may not be 100% accurate. Engine thrust, MTOW and range (full load) based on best options available for them. Passenger capacity in standard 3-class layout for widebodies and 2-class for narrowbodies (including A300, A310)

The A320 range can be longer than the A321 - 321 is heavier (+40/50 pax) and her engine has more thrust.

This is what Google “thinks”: " The Airbus A320-200’s range varies but is generally around

4,000 to 6,000 km (2,500 to 3,700 nautical miles), depending on payload, fuel capacity, and configuration, with figures often cited between 4,100 km (Lufthansa) and 6,200 km (Air Similan), allowing for many regional and some longer flights, even across oceans like the Atlantic with sharklets for better efficiency"

" The Airbus A321-200’s range varies by configuration but is generally around

5,000 to 6,000 km (3,000 to 3,200 nautical miles), enabling transcontinental U.S. flights, thanks to optional fuel tanks and higher thrust engines compared to earlier A321 models. Specific ranges cited by operators include 5,100 km (Condor), 5,950 km (Air Transat), and 5,600 km (Turkish Airlines), depending on passenger load and optional equipment like Sharklets"

And if we compare 321-200 with 321 LR we can see this

I’ve also found two other glitches with the A320 as I’ve been flying it today, but I’ll type up a separate thread for them

A321’s with either the CFM LEAP-1A or Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engines is the NEO or New Engine Option version and there are three primary variants:

A321neo with a range of 3,500nm.

A321LR (Long Range) with a range of 4,000nm.

A321XLR (Extra Long Range) with a range of 4,700nm.

The older CEO (current engine option) variants had the CFM56-5Bx or IAE V253x engines and some can have ranges from 2,700nm - 3,200nm.
