I have changed my Quickview positions L1, L2, L3, R1, R2 and R3 to get the view I want by editing the InitialXyz and the InitialPbh values in the Camera.cfg files for the aircraft I want to change. These view now work exactly as defined so all good. Problem is that I want to change the zoom/magnification level. Changing the value of the Initialzoom variables in the Camera.cfg file for each of these views has no effect whatsoever.
Any suggestions? I know I can create defined cockpit views to do this but I already have those keys defined for instrument views so I would prefer not to mess with that.
Thanks!
Hhmm, I think I MIGHT be onto something! Being a logical soul, I assumed (always dangerous that…) that to increase the zoom, you had to increase the Initialzoom variable value. Sort of like a real camera lens’s focal distance. So I kept on making the value bigger and bigger. Further checking seems to reveal the following:
- Counter-intuitively, it would appear that the higher the value, the lower the zoom! Who’d a thunk that?!
- It also appears that this variable has a limited range. I will have to check this but it seems like it only works between something like 0.17 (full telephoto in camera terms) to around 0.7 (full wide angle in camera terms).
So with previous adjustments, the more I increased the value, the wider the angle became. Up to the max value, after which it seems it has no effect. This lack of effect was what led me to believe that the system was ignoring the Initialzoom adjustment
This from a very quick look. I will delve into this in more detail tomorrow and confirm. But if this is indeed how it works, I will be a very happy camper. Flyer. Person. Whatever!
