Brief description of the issue:
Please see attached picture : Seems that the radar / Nexrad generates unrealistic and incorrect reflection of rain and weather. Almost like it picks up every single cloud as area of precipitation and thunderstorm extreme rain. In the picture you can see clearly that all the area outside is just clouds but the radar picks up wrong picture and draw clouds.

It’s been working correctly since SU7. Sometimes precipitation does absolutely coincide with cloud formations. However, I can confirm on a Coast-to-Coast Trip I started in December 2021, and flew 25 legs ending in March using Live WX every time, precipitation is correctly being detected.
I’ve flown through enormous cloud and overcast in the Midwest US and no precip was shown on the NEXRAD. Other times, I flew through broken clouds where only some sections had precip, and others were just clouds. In your case, that may indeed be an active storm cell.
You can see that the clouds are just broken clouds without vertical development. However the way the radar picks the rain or weather cells just doesn’t looks right at all. In my entire career in aviation I have never seen radar painting something like that.
One to make certain (which ruins gameplay, but this is in support of repro efforts) is to fly into the cell. If you start hearing rain effects - it’s working correctly.
This is a perfect example. You can see on the NEXRAD and look out the canopy and confirm - that Yellow Cell is exactly offshore and I’m flying into it - you can’t even see anything beyond it- no horizon, nothing. It’s working.
That’s look way better than what I got there. I guess the way the sim algorithm built the clouds was incorrect and the radar picture was horrible with it.
