Radio & Nav Panels Flicker and Blank Out Cessna 152, Cessna 172 and Baron G58

Experienced radio and navigation panels flickering and eventually blanking a few minutes after take-off. Occurred on C152, C172 and Baron G58. Does not happen on Cessna Citation and Boeing 787. These jet airplanes operate smoothly.

When the fault occurs, frame rates decrease markedly from 60 down to 3 FPS. GPU RTX 3060 Ti clock reduces from 2000MHz down to 800MHz, utilization drops from 96% down to 28%. Simulator feels really sluggish.

PC hardware verified to operate normally through another flight simulator (X-plane 11), RAM tested and passed.

Troubleshooting led to Thrustmaster TCA Thrust Levers, a recent add-on to my rig. Fault occurs only when this peripheral is connected and used for the propeller airplanes mentioned above.

Have contacted Tech Support at Thrustmaster. Yet to contact Zendesk.
Any info is appreciated, thank you.

If you have already updated the latest drivers and firmware, please do the following test outside of the game:
To test it in the control panel, please follow the instructions below with your device:

1. Simultaneously press the WINDOWS+R keys on your keyboard;

2. Type in the RUN window “joy.cpl”;

3. The name of your product should appear with the status “OK”;

Then double click on the name of the device that will appear on the new window.
In the Game Controllers Panel verify if each command responds properly to your actions.

4. Click on the Properties button to test your product’s hardware functionality. Test all buttons, sticks and pedals(if needed).

If both the Sidestick and Quadrant are working ok in the control panel, then the issue is with the game and we recommend you contact the game developer for further assistance.

TCA Quadrant verified “OK”, latest Garmin update ver 0.3.0 was also downloaded. Unfortunately, the problem persists. Again, the TCA Quadrant works flawlessly in X-plane 11.

Any ideas?

As this rig uses a Low Hash Rate 3060 Ti OC graphics card by Gigabtye, I’ve also contacted them.
Hope someone can figure this out. Thank you.

Go to the Control Options > TCA Q-ENG > Clear the settings for SET STARTER 1. It should be set to your Joystick Button 3, clear it, apply and save. You should no longer have issues with your radio panel instruments.

This button is pre-assigned for three actions:
Set Engine 1 Fuel Valve
Set Engine Master 1
Set Starter 1 <--------- The Issue is here. (when flying some propeller aircraft.)

Thank You, RNAVRicardo! Finally gotten around to using MSFS2020 again. Your method fixed the problem. Rediscovering the joy of flight :wink:

Hi, I’m facing about the same problems too. After few minutes airborne, my radio off by itself and the flaps not working on both Cessna 152 & 172……
I did check on the honeycomb alpha and bravo setting everything are ok.
I try to use the mouse curser to on the left side white button avionic but it’s doesn’t move…while the rest of the buttons is ok. For the flap using the mouse curser it’s moving but physically the flaps never move.
Need help on this…really weird…it’s happened suddenly.
:pray: Thanks in advance
