RAF Fairford, UK

RAF Fairford, UK.

VFR in G Airspace with no Flight Plan.

When it appeared on the list and I tuned to their Frquency, I was startled by the extra numbers of options offered.

One was, “Request D Airspace Transit.”

Which genius is responsible for this? It is not a 3rd Party Field, as it has
ATC in Asobo…

Most Fields have some controlled Airspace, any of the classes.

All airfields so far in four years have NOT got a ‘Transit Zone’ option.
I have been moaning about this for four years.

The ATC option only needs to say “Request controlled Zone Transit”.

Now the BIG, BIG question.
Why is this not everywhere?

In SDK, developers copy lines of code from a Sample .cfg into their .cfg
This line ( or lines ) nominate the name of the airfield and the appropriate comms frequency.

AFAIK, ATC is Asobo’s end. All the dialog is in Asobo’s coding.

Can developers get to it? Dunno.

What I would like to see when I tune to an ATC or AFIS.

ATIS Frequency.
REQUEST ZONE TRANSIT
REQUSET FULL STOP LANDING
‘BACK’.

ATC Reject or accept dependent on traffic or Weather conditions.

If accepted,
Give joining instructions
or
Give permission to Transit.

Am I asking too much?

I take it from the silence, there is no ‘Zone Transit’ in MSFS2024.

Someone would have responded.

MSFS2024 can stay on the shelf.
