I hope for an update before the end of the week, it’s an aberration, this game is full of bugs, it’s an alpha, the thing and we are releasing versions at €150,200
I can confirm I have the same problems on every aircraft I have tried so far.
Rain and windshield wipers… biggest immersion killers. I hope they’ll put it on their priority list.
Same as everybody else in this tread, i have no rain effects but today i found out that in VR I have !
Switching to VR immediately brings the rain effects (same session, same aircraft…only switch to VR and the effects are there). In 2D i can not set the window effects to High…it automatically it switches back to medium…Hope the Devs can do something with this info.
Rather bad rain effects here too. For me, sitting on the tarmac in heavy rain with engines off in the 152 Aerobat, I get raindrops on not only on the side windows but all across the ENTIRE INSIDE of both door panels.
All the while there is little to nothing at all appearing on the windscreen itself. Grrr.
ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
→ I have no rain effect on the cockpit windshield (also not on the aircraft itself).
In the settings, the windshield/glass quality is set to “medium”, but changing it to “high” has no effect whatsoever, and the setting is not remembered: if you set the quality to “high”, save the setting, go back to the current flight, you can see that nothing has changed. If you go back to the settings, you will see that the quality is once again set to “medium”.
If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
→ TBM930 (tested, other planes suspected, since I think this is a sim issue)
[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
→ No mods installed.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
→ Always.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
- Load a flight with the TBM930
- Set the weather to rain, or use live weather with rain
- check the windshield → no raindrops are seen

same. In VR, no rain drops on windshield, except if i smash my face into a window i can see raindrops, just barely.
I have the same issue, and even if I switch windshield effects to HIGH, as soon as I exit the menu it reverts back to MEDIUM. Voted.
I had the same issue, The rain effects only seem to show up when you have windshield effects set to high.
My issue I was having, is each time I set it to high, and saved the config, it was back at Medium again on its own, next time I went in there.
I reset to defaults, then was able change all my settings, think oneof the other settings, may keep the setting from staying on high, not sure, But I finally have nice big rain effects on all windows again.
Check to see if yours is sticking on medium, go change it, go to plane, see no rain drops, then drop back and look at the windshield effects good chance its reverted to medium again.
The only way I figured it out was flying with others that had RTX 3080s, and they were getting it, I was like no way my. 4090 is not able to do this…
The only way for me the get good rain effects and weather is by using system Presets only. Ones you make a Custom preset it’s bugged again.
The rain drops are there, just barely visible. It seems like they are only visible when light is reflecting off the front windshield.
Yep. I can barely see the drops on the windows in the right light with the Usercfg manually set to High (as long as I don’t mess with settings in the sim, it stays on high), but the drops hitting the ground seem greatly exaggerated.
What happened to the water on the windshield on Xbox?
I don’t know if anyone posted this but I found a workaround.
Change the overall graphics preset to ultra which will set windshield to high. You can then adjust other settings as you wish, it will retain the windshield value as long as you don’t touch it
If you change it to medium you’ll have to do this over again
No rain effects on any glass in the Citation Longitude.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
