Rain effect on windshield non-existent

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

1. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
   Yes

2. Description of the issue:
   Rain streaks and droplets present in MSFS2020 are not present on MSFS2024 when sitting inside the plane. Windshield Effects is on High Setting. Rain drops do appear on some side-panel windows, but never on the front window.

1. Load in with any plane (x-cub in my case)
2. Make it rain on the plane (live weather or fake)
3. look for rain drops while sitting parked with engine off or look for streaks on takeoff, they are not existent.

• Windshield effects in graphic settings can’t set to high and will switch back to medium everytime. Maybe this correlate to this issue

Hi, I have exactly the same bug.
I don’t have any addons on my community folder.

I checked and the windshield effects in graphic settings can’t set to high and will switch back to medium everytime. Even after several restart of the game and my pc.

Tried to find the graphic config file of MSFS 2024, to change it directly by hand but can’t find it anywhere.

yes i can confirm on my side too, I notices there is no rain effect on the windshield

I can confirm that the windshield effects work on the DA62.

Well here I am again - got into sim got a little rain briefly from preset but no rain on windshield - have windshield effects on high

Changed to another preset and couldnt get any rain at all

As for snow plane wash sitting on runway effects working from engines but no snow falling also - something really strange going on

Tried Ini Airbus and Citation Jet

I have Steam edition I found it - changed it in config txt file and now have high setting but no rain or snow falling

For a brief moment while it was raining there is no rain on the windshield or side glass

Medium settings is not the problem I have seen rain drops few times properly

Guessing its the server not sending info - frustrating

Cessna C400 Corvalis has no streaks animating on the windows (front or side) in heavy rain.

When I parked on the ground I had a few spots on the front windscreen but not as much as it should be I think.

Didn’t try others in rain yet, but maybe it is only certain aircraft affected?

Same, no rain at all on windshield, dont see the rain outside also, even if im under a cloud where i can see the shower rain effect below it… am i alone?

Works sometimes but not much most the time no rain or snow - guess they dont want to overload the servers lol

I have bigger issues terrain and buildings look all melted - and laggy game play on a very high end pc - gpu and internet

Any ideas Guys no snow or rain coming down using factory presets - I checked the steam integrity install says it fine - thanks

The rain preset doesn’t always put a rain cloud right over you, it’s by default pretty patchy. To get rain for sure, make a thick overcast layer, bring it down close to the ground, and turn precipitation all the way up

Thanks Buddy guess its not as obvious as I thought it would be - that said I guess it has to be very overcast - bottom layer and thats it not in between as it rains irl without that much cloud coverage to get it working

I was talking about how to get rain falling in the first place, sometimes the rain preset doesn’t work. The windshield effect is the bug.

And try the DA62, the rain can be seen on the windshield for that one

Same issue, you can see the rain streaks on the dash, but nothing on the windscreen or other glass surfaces…this is FS2024 with the standard DA40NG
