Same here :(. RTX makes the cockpit look so much better. And as a human with enough time and money to play MSFS 2024 in VR I can assure this is a VERY important thing to solve. PLEASE, I AM DYING OVER HERE.

I am having the same issue. Windows 24H2. I notice that when I set VR graphics settings to Ultra mode, then I can enable raytraced shadows. However any other mode and it gets greyed out. Makes no sense

Can’t activate it either in Windows 10. I hope this is a bug and we quickly get raytracing in VR as well.

I was able to “activate” it by manually changing my UserCfg.opt file and setting the value there. It shows up as activated in the UX of MSFS2024, but I’m going to be honest and say I can’t tell if it’s actually doing anything.

i think i remember Seb saying that cockpit raytracing wasn’t supported in VR

Seems odd that it’s in the VR graphics menu?

I see now that despite the box being checked for raytraced shadows in VR, there are no actual raytraced shadows in the cockpit. Just flickering shadow maps. So it isn’t working.

Yes, sadly, even on Ultra it is not really working. Looks really nice in 2d, was hoping we would get this one in VR too.

No ray traced shadows insided the cockpit n VR for me either!!!

Thank you for the bug report.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged

if in VR graphics you choose global settings of High or Ultra, Ray Traced shadows is on. If you choose global settings of Medium or low, it will be off. you can then choose to adjust individual parameters to high or ultra etc for all fields.
That said, I know of no games in VR that use any ray tracing. Nvidia has showcased VR Ray tracing but I don’t thing it works. that and Frame gen are not a thing in VR. So why does it even show enabled in high or ultra Global settings is a question I’d liek Asobo to answer. Martial… you’re the VR guy… what’s the word?
