I’ve noticed the pressure is way off when using Rex at the moment, I had to resort to MSFS live weather to get an accurate match between the METAR and the pressure setting in the C172. This is a little annoying with a paid product, maybe today’s update will have an effect.
I was using it. But it’s not accurate anymore… it had no snow in the Sierras. Lol. I had to revert back to default weather in the sim.
Posted on REX Discord yesterday:
“We made a slight adjustment to the Snow rendering on our server today. Please advise if it improves the location rendering. We have a bug in the app that we will be releasing a fix to soon.”
Hello,
I am new to MFS as well as this forum, I tried looking around on how to post a question, but could not find anything. I wanted to know if it is possible to automatically change weather conditions midflight?
Yes you can change the weather
Can you please inform me how to do it? Thanks!
On the top menu (while in the game, move your mouse towards the top center of your screen and you’ll see the menu), click on the cloud icon.
I mainly fly VR in MSFS and enjoyed REX weather in P3D previously.
Is REX weather worth considering for MSFS in its current state ?
Difficult to say. At least the consistency of the clouds in VR looks a bit better since SU09. At the moment I can’t see much of a difference between the two. However, I currently fly very little in FS, as the FPS drop since SU09 is getting on my nerves.
Currently I prefer the Mi-24 and the F-14 at 80fps in another sim.
I bought it a few weeks back. In some instances, perhaps many, I get better results with it. In a few rare occasions Asobo live weather has been better, in a visual only aspect you understand.
My one complaint really is if aerosol feature is enabled it’s like being Riddick without his signature goggles. With the sun lower on the horizon it can look like a nuke has gone off. It just obscures everything in the direction of the sun.
Well i disagree… REX weather force do not show correct weather… i have reportet one about it but nothing happend. today it was overcast in norway( ENZV/Stavanger) well rex show Broken clouds insted. Fix that weather program.
Anyone using this app?
I bought it sometime ago, started to have some crashes on MSFS and after deleting this everything worked fine again. After a while decided today to reinstall. Same thing happening all over again.
Don’t use it if you’re using the SU10 beta as it’s not compatible with it.
So after a year I thought I’d try it again…I have just deleted it from my system!
weather is close to real life…BUT! drops framerate by a bit, then coming in to land
8 fps!!! from 58. disabled REX. back to 58fps!
sorry guys you’ve lost me as a customer for good!!!
Rex has a sale going on and I’m considering picking up Weather Force. I’m a fan of their AccuSeason and Real Global Airport Textures add ons. How does Weather Force stack up against the latest “stock” weather in sim? All the posts and reviews are from a year or two ago. Is Weather Force no longer relavant? Is anyone still using it?
Check out this thread;
I would suggest jumping on their Discord to keep up with where they are at. I used it exclusively for the first year as it was superior to the sim live weather, and actually worked, all the time.
That said, it does have glitches now, altitude jumps at transition, performance degradation, air temperature issues.
It’s great for low flyting GA, not so much for airliners at the moment but they are working on it.
That said, the weather has gotten much better in-sim (SU9) that I don’t use it.
Dont do it…
Rex is not as good as they say, I would even go so far as to say he is a piece of ■■■■…
While it manages to have a climate far superior to what MSFS has to offer… As the flight goes by it becomes super unreal, clouds disappear out of nowhere, clouds appear out of nowhere, storm and rain in app when you already configured an arrival with other parameters, but that’s not the worst in cruise flight the altimeters go crazy so the autopilot does strange things …
It has lag between zero natural weather transitions… And it makes a weird noise in the engines because the system is overloaded or something i dont know…
If it would have been free I would say that it is ok to take pictures or go around the airport but since they charged me I have every right to complain…
I have been using the program for a couple of months, and I have not found the correct configuration, most likely I am stupid and I do not know how to configure it… If there is someone from REX who can tell me how to do it and it works…
I will gladly ask for a public apology and delete this topic… Otherwise stop buying this product…
Thanks all, I am skipping it!
What I like most about RWF is the ability to have aerosols + live weather. I don’t think they use accurate data about aerosol levels, though. While it gives everything a more realistic look, I’ve never seen much variation in visibility due to the aerosol effect. Seems to be more like an on/off switch.
Just considering this add-on & checking in to see how it’s going…
Working well? Framerate performance? Etc.
thanks
