RealSimGear causing CTD on loading (no error message) under latest sim version

I’m using the RealSimGear GNS430. On loading, MSFS crashes to desktop without an error message. This consistently occurs shortly after the RealSimGear Device Interface establishes a connection with the hardware. All software is up to date, and device firmware is also latest.

Everything was fine before the last update.
When the RealSimGear folder is removed from the community folder, the sim loads normally.

Is anyone else with RealSimGear hardware experiencing this?

I believe I recall seeing there was an incompatibility with RSG and SU9.

Have you updated the drivers ? I believe there was an update.

EDIT: so it turns out I was NOT infact running the latest version (1.6.1.0 at the time of writing) of the Device Interface software; the link I was using was from a post on their site, but linked to an older version.
