Regenerating water!

please is anyone else have same issue,

I bought flight sim purely for flying around my home village,

I can fly over village and everything looks great,
I then fly away from village to other areas and when i fly back the village is covered in a block of water,

happens every time,

I have tried clearing cache, increasing cache, no cache, but always happens only in that area, Newmains, Scotland,

I have no 3rd party addons,
Fligtsim 2020 premium deluxe,
Broadband is great,

It is very annoying and ruins the entire flight sim for me,

@Blondi137 can you provide the name/code of closest airport to your village so we can check it out also?

Thank you for reply,
Nearest airfield is Strathaven Airfield,
This is Also where I hanger my real light aircraft.

My village Newmains is approx 20nm NE of Strathaven.

Thanks. I would check this out later, and provide feedback.

Tried to replicate the issue by flying in your area for around 30 mins, but didn’t see the issue.

Having said that, the water levels sometimes looks a bit off… (pic not related)

thank you for reply,
here are some more images from different times,

as i fly around there a lot, i guess i see it more often,
have included 1 pic of me flying over in real aircraft, you can see what a good job the fs teams have done in reproducing the world in general.

If that doesn’t happen immediately when flying over that area, can you be more specific which route you fly to reproduce it?
Maybe a flight plan would help to try it out.

Also, you didn’t tweak your user config file manually?
What are your graphics settings (especially terrain LOD)?

When you see that happen, try to set graphics to LOW and then back to the original settings, does that artifact still appear?

Sorry can’t make those settings on Xbox series x

Has only happened since last update and hotfix’s

Turn off and delete the rolling cache* try flying the area with all cache (manual and rolling OFF)

  • Make a note of its size and location. You can create a new one later. Indeed you can also change its location to a different (faster) drive etc.

Oddly this looks EXACTLY like a glitch I saw while changing my rolling cache behaviour DURING a flight. It glitches for a few seconds and the whole world looked like this. (Well, the whole world looked like it was all sea.)

My guess would be that those parches are actually data not loading in.

Took a good look round but couldn’t reproduce the issue, sorry.

In case anyone else wants to look: 55.786924, -3.872066

Please note I am using xbox series x,
I have seen a few people saying does not happen on pc,
Is there any settings on Xbox series x that would cause this.

I also experienced the same issue …
Check your data settings, Bing Data World Graphics and Photogrammetry… ensure that they are both on.

Mine was turned off, by the helpful application. If yours is on, I would suggest turning them off while flying for a couple of seconds then turning them back on. This should solve the issue.

Nice system by the way.

have a blessed weekend…

Thanks for your help,
I have all that set but unfortunately the issue is still there,
Is good when I fly over, then go somewhere else and fly back and random water or water sheets appear.
It has been Since the last update this has not gone away despite trying everything.

I hope the general water levels are fixed very soon as I think that is causing this issue.

Puts me off the sim as I only like flying in my local area!

I have tried to recreate by flying there and doing several passes over the village and back and am not seeing this on my Xbox series X, maybe try deleting all your pre-cached ROLLING CACHE data would be worth a try. Looks lovely and rural there.
I have all DATA settings set to ON, am running at 4K res.

thanks for reply,

Deleted cache again,
all data settings on and running 4k

and this time tried flight from Strathaven to newmains with cache off,
took off and flew over newmains and all was ok,
flew back to Strathaven done touch and go then flew back to Newmains and random water is back,

It’s certainly very odd. Is it definitely water texture and not just grey missing texture tiles?
