Reinstalling and Backup Tips for PC?

Hello all,

I’m considering reinstalling my game on PC (MS Store version), but I’m a bit hesitant. So far I have no major/serious issues with the game stability, but I lost the plot about the folder locations a long time ago. Also, I’m wondering if the 40th edition would be a good excuse to do a clean install.

However, I’d really prefer not to remap every controller I have for the game, so I’m wondering what would be the best practice for backup and reinstall (and why there is no one-click feature for this in-game  )?

Any tips/suggestions are welcome.

All your settings are saved to the “Cloud” and “should” be restored with a reinstallation.
I say “should” because it is supposed to, but as with any program, strange things can happen.
You can also save the existing settings files.
They are located in the “SystemAppData” folder.
In there you will find the WGS folder.
Copy that and paste it somewhere safe just in case.

Personally, if the sim works fine, I would stick with “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

Thanks for the reply, the “if it ain’t broken” part is why I was not sure if I should do it, I just got confused by the various locations the game exists on my drives.

I tried to figure out if my settings are saved in the “cloud”, but I could not confirm it. I’ll back up the SystemAppData folder just in case, even if I don’t do the reinstall.

Cheers!
