100 Years of U.S. Route 20

From the West Coast to the East Coast

The US-20 mission is one of the rare flight simulation experiences that doesn’t feel like a single flight, but rather like a complete narrative spanning an entire continent. It begins on the Pacific coast in Newport—with salty air, a bright horizon, and the clear outline of the coastline—and ends in the dense, historic fabric of Boston, where New England’s urban landscape glows beneath you like a multi-layered mosaic. In between, a route unfolds that reads like a geographical cross-section of the United States: volcanic cones, high deserts, prairies, river valleys, industrial centers, lake regions, forests, and finally the maritime metropolis on the Atlantic coast.

It’s not just a flight, but a story told in legs: about the history, culture, geology, and way of life of the people in the northern United States. A route that feels particularly vivid in the simulator because it connects so many different landscapes.
