RELEASE: MilViz Corsair for MSFS

That was me, not him. You’re welcome! (also with some pointers to it being the cause by @FlyingsCool5650 )

Aileron trim has always been a part of this plane, mentioned in the take off checklists as a key setting, and the torque has always been minimal in flight mode. Whether you apply that or not is up to you, but it’s basic flight knowledge to understand what effects trim settings will have on an aircraft in all phases of flight. Feeling the plane roll to the right if you lessen the stick pressure after take off should be a clue that the trim is now overcompensating, so you can roll it off. Physics! This is transferable learning, as it’s a general principle that can be applied to any plane and trim settings in different flight configurations.

If anything, the only thing that needs changing is the manual should mention rolling off the rudder/aileron trims to zero (or whatever setting needed to level it out depending on torque effect) in the after takeoff checklist. (suggestion for @Krazycolin ). It does mention trims in the after take off checklist, but only refers to elevator trims, and it should really give a shout out to the rest of the trim family seeing as they’re set in the take off checklist. This part applies to all warbirds with these powerful torque enignes, and you may be better off rolling it off in the case of other warbirds that have different flight model torque effects modelled.

eg: Here is how one user of the new FI BF109 views them:

Adjusting the Torque to be stronger in flight phase is possible, but I guess you could always mod that too if you really feel the need for it.

The learning points from this discussion I would see as:

  • How .flt flight files work, what they change, and why
  • Aircraft checklists are there for a reason
  • How aircraft torque and trims work in different flight phases.
  • Models are not reality. Which is fine, these are only rough approximations of reality. Go with it!

Also, as previously mentioned,
