Release Notes on Minor Updates

As far as I’ve noticed, major SUs come with release notes, but I’ve had several minor updates over the last couple of months with no notes at all, just a button that takes you to a “Thank you for being with us” type of announcement.

I like to know what I’m getting; just something like “Performance and stability improvements” would at least be something.

Wouldn’t you?

Almost always, release notes for updates are posted in Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > News & Announcements. I suggest marking that category as “Watching” so you always get notified of something new :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Can the release notes be directly readable in the updater screen, with a link to a web page with them, consistently, every time?

Remember only a tiny fraction of MSFS simmers use this forum and will ever see something posted here.

First place I look. Never found anything.

This was the last known update to MSFS, unless of course you are in the beta.

City Updates & World updates typically pose a mandatory update to the sim.

But I do agree, it should also include the release notes inside the simulator. Added my vote!

Not the end of the world by any means but frustrating to get a forced update with 1.50 Gigs of updates which appeared to be FS_base updates and FS_Base_AI updates and the Release Notes are still 1.38.2 and the only things listed are A310, A320 and PC-6 updates…

It would just be nice if the team could update the release notes when you click on “v” to display them in sim…

So I really have no idea what was in the update which is frustrating.

I think this is 3 updates now with the same release notes.

It’s just the basics. Why can’t this be done right? Every time there’s an update, I’m hopeful that the A320n v2 cockpit lighting, that’s been broken for 6-months, will be fixed. Alas, no. World updates and all other fancy goodness, but again the basics of fixing core aircraft are lost.

I agree…it makes sense to see the actual release note details of what’s being downloaded at the actual time and place you’re downloading and not after the fact. Why disconnect the information from the download site…doesn’t make sense. I’ve posted on this 2 and 3 years ago and still no change.
