[RELEASED 9/26] Flysimware Sierra C24

The reason I’m interested in this plane is that it has the G5 CGR-30P, 30C and GTN 750 systems in it. On Xbox, there’s currently no other plane that offers these instruments (apart from the 414 but it’s a much more complex aircraft and also more expensive). It would be great to finally learn and use the 750. Otherwise I don’t need another GA aircraft, but do we need any at all at this point? We don’t buy add-ons out of need. I’m always up for learning new avionics though.

I have tried everything. DX12 and 11, 15 beta but no luck. The plane does it in flat screen and VR. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the plane.

Great repaint, thank you and I’m very happy that the relevant decal and placard texture files can be used for all versions -

Hi BigNYCDon

I too have deleted & reinstalled this aircraft due to Blank avionics & major jerky flickering movement when panning. Must have deleted & reinstalled about 4 times today but gave up. I purchased mine from the in sim marketplace.

No issues with any other of my aircraft but this one has given me some issues so at the moment its deleted off my system.
Shame as it looks a nice addition to the hanger but what I will say its not a patch on the A2A Comanche.

Are you on pc or Xbox? If on pc, turning texture resolution from Ultra to high fixed the stuttering/tearing for me. Will hopefully revert back to Ultra after the MP gets the latest update.
If you’re on Xbox, wait for the update on Thursday, is supposed to remove the 8k textures which are the cause.

I’m running 7800X3D/4080S so it can power through it. But it does have a wee bit of frame drop like I’m flying something very complex, just enough to be noticeable. I will say it looks great on a 55". But definitely would want it at native 4K.

I9 14900 and a 4070 here, usually have no problem running Ultra everything but this aircraft and 1 of my Fenix liveries(added Sat morning and promptly removed) have caused this weird graphical tearing, in the airplane, world map, any menu.

Since lowering to High texture resolution, everything else is set back to Ultra settings, I can at least take the Sierra up and enjoy it for the time being.

Fingers crossed that the lower volume for the prop and throttle sounds is much better!

Thank you very much! I also always like to have the real logos in the cockpit :grinning:

Well, I solved my left rolling problem. I forgot I had “rudder assist” on in the Assistance options.
Not only did turning this off stop the left rolling, it also seemed to add more power to the plane, or ay least it’s a lot easier to climb and keep altitude (I guess the virtual rudder declination provided by rudder assist was slowing the plane down). Anyway, the C24 really seems to dislike “rudder assist”. Just fyi.

Here’s the livery of D-EGYA

In addition I did some changes to the cockpit views to improve visibility of the G5 a bit.

And I also refurbished the interior a bit. Panel and seats mostly. Don’t worry it’s not brand new only a few colour touch ups here and there. Also all now is in a more modern looking grey and you can chose between a painted or a brushed aluminium instrument panel.

The Decathlon by Hangar Studios have the GTN 750 and with the plane you get access to it on the toolbox bar, so you can use with pretty much with any plane.

Regarding the Xbox issue, I was sent the Xbox patch to (torture) test on my Xbox X. The texture file change fixed the issues with panels blacking out for all but the most extreme scenarios.

Running “All Players”, “Live Traffic”, //42 SimFX maxed, Flow on, at PANC with the ORBX Alaskan Mesh loaded with a bunch of custom airports nearby was the only way I could recreate the black panels we experienced before. Once I cut off Flow it was right back to the panels firing back up.

Nothing makes you realise you are in a game and not a simulation faster than really bad human characters! Why do developers think this is a good thing?

True, it looks way to cartoonish.

Going to give it an Archer ‘ehhh’. It does seem to raise a sensation of responsibility provided they’re passively ‘there’. Asobo keeps alluding to passengers filling cabins in 24 but hasn’t shown what that means. The C414, P2012, C510, and Kodiak have some variation of this now, to name a few.

I still think the frame rate hit on this aircraft is a bit too high, no mention of texture conversions in the changelog yet. On a 7800X3D/4080 it’s hitting like a heavy airliner. A bit distracting on a perky little plane.

And the G3 screen is way too dim.

Really wish for a steam gauge cockpit. Just like AvAngel said: for the price it shouldn’t be too much of a hardship.

I’d be fine with a steam HSI/AI

There is a white knob under the G3X to adjust luminosity.
But by default, yes, it is a bit dim.
