[Released] Black Square Baron and Bonanza Professional

GTN 750 primary and GTN 650 screens are blank. Is there anything i need to do to get them to come on or is it a bug (maybe SU4 beta bug) ?

I have the TDS and both the 650 & 750 work as expected for me in SU4 Beta.

Now showing orange screens with WASM errors…

Ah, my bad. Didn’t realise I had to purchase something to use the TDS .

You can probably run the free version of the PMS.

Hello, trying this product. I haver a question, is it possible to have co-pilot in the cabin and passenger? I tick the option for co-pilot viewable from inside but without effect, and the cabin is empty what ever I load into. It is planned to have that support later?

Thanks,

Pascal

I took off from a small field Southeast of Phoenix, AZ (don’t remember which one) and flew west via some random strips before I went for the altitude test. Then I decendend and finally landed at KUDD.

At altitude it went down to -40 °C.

Excatly this happened to me, when I tried to install (Run as administrator) Starship and Hawk to my PC. Solution for this was switch from my second user account to my admin account. I don’t normally use admin account when I’m on PC. No problem for installation. After I started sim and tested planes once, I just swich back to my second user account. I’m not bought these two planes yet, but probably I have to do same thing again.
BTW: Thanks to the JF support! :+1:

I have bought 6 planes from JF and every one had problems with installation. But this is not right topic for these…

OK thanks for info. I’ll have a play over the next few days. :+1:

You have to do some file modification to get visible co-pilot in BKSQ FS24 planes. I presume this work also with these two plane. Tested this in Starship, but as someone said in that topic, co-pilot model seems to be little bit too big.

Took the turbine Bonanza out for a quick rip early today.

WOW!

Looking forward to flying the recip versions….later

Quick question: anyone having difficulties with the state saving? I’m exiting MSFS2024 properly (IE - ā€œQuit to Desktopā€ as per the FAQ) but the Bonanza still won’t remember my radio settings or state of chocks/plugs/etc

(I’m in the SU4 Beta, as a point of reference)

I noticed the same. I specifially enabled starting a flight with the chocks etc. in place in the tablet, but on the next flight these items weren’t there. I’m also on SU4 Beta.

Ok, well I’ll call that a medium-low annoyance. Hopefully either Black Square or Asobo get that fixed soon but in the meantime I’m not going to let something like that stop me from enjoying this aircraft.

Chocks actually load correctly, but they sometimes (well, most of the times) disappear immediately. If you look closely when sim loads from world map to back of the plane, you might see glimp of the chocks.

Here is Nick’s explanation for this problem:

The sequence of aircraft loading is very messed up in MSFS 2024, so all my existing startup code has become inconsistent in various ways. The chocks fail to remain deployed because the aircraft is still bouncing and rolling from the zoom-in animation from the menu, and there seem to be errant gusts of apparent wind over 100,000 mph while the aircraft is loading too, as well as ambient temperatures from deep space. Also, the apparent wind on the airframe includes the motion of the player character while walking around the ramp… Sorry, I’ll stop.

Interesting.

So there’s multiple problems going on here. E: Nope, state saving in general is broken.

I wonder if running the 2020 version in 2024 would show the same problems? I can’t see how it would affect things like not remembering the radio config but maybe not using the native 2024 walk around system would bypass the weird loading issues Nick has outlined?

EDIT: reading that thread it seems the problems also occur with the 2020 version of the aircraft and it affects the state saving specifically, not just external stuff like chocks and plugs.

It looks like this is a thing for Asobo to sort out, unfortunately.

All the black square airplanes including the dukes don’t have working state save in my experience right now. SU4 beta.

Interesting on the state saving.

It is definitely working for me on the Bonanza. I have chocks, covers, control lock set, and even the doors are still open after I parked it the last time I flew it.

This is after quitting and relaunching the sim, plus a switch to the Baron and back, too.

Bought the bundle, I really missed the analog overhaul from 2020. Both the Baron and the Bonanza are next level, but they are both so enjoyable to fly. They react as you would expect. I heard their external sounds from the preview videos, but the internals are amazing as well.

I did have some erratic behavior getting into VR, where the display will lock up until you hit ctrl+alt+del. Frame rates are comparable to stock aircraft and VR performance is smooth. I’m looking forward to many flights with these craft

The hand flying characteristics are very very good. A cut above for sure. Feels like a real airplane. The only thing I would nudge the dev on is make the sun visors moveable, and maybe in the future add features like dirt and bug accumulation (cool 2024 feature) and perhaps things like a bit of a walkaround… check the oil, tire pressure. Otherwise they are alot of fun, and to me with 20 percent off it is quite the offering for the money.

They are movable, just a bit awkwardly. Put your cursor over the metal part that the plexiglass is attached to and it can pivot downward and sideways. They were helpful as I flew into the morning sun.

It would help to have the click spot improved greatly.

I can’t view the engine pages or the electrical page in the tablet, they’re just grey. Only issue I’m having with these wonderful aircraft.
