[Released] Classics Hangar Klemm L25

EDIT: Released now and available for PC at www.classics-hangar.de and at the MSFS 2020 Marketplace for PC and Xbox.

Hello dear fellow simmers,
some of you might be aware that I’m developing a Klemm L25 for quite some time now.
Now that we’re slowly coming to an end I thought it’s a good idea to share some progress here.
The aircraft is an exact replica of the Klemm KL25 d VII R2 that is currently operated at EDTE, Eutingen im Gäu in southern Germany, build 1934.
The plane was build in roughly 600 samples in various subversions of which the “d” model was the most numerious. It was used by many famous aviators, for instance by German aviatrix Elly Beinhorn who made an Africa trip and a world trip in Klemm L25 and the somewhat more luxuriously equipped L26.
It was the standard sports plane for about a decade, flown allover the world. It was license-build in the USA and in Great Britian, known to the British as the B.A. Swallow, B.K. Swallow respectively

The model is complete, still working a bit on weathering, bump mapping and some more “repaints”.

Coding is widestly complete.

Wwise sounds, recorded from the real plane, are 95% done, and hands down you’ll get one or two “environmental” sound features you’ve all been asking for in this kind of plane but never received before.

I finally found a reputable and respected aerodynamics developer who is doing his magic to the plane as we speak.

To be done is interactive checklist, documetation, visual effects and some configuration and cleanup voodoo.

The package should be ready by the time or shortly before FS24 hits the shelfs.

And finally, here some inevitable and unedited screenshots:

Looking forward to this. Will it come with a cover for the passenger seat hole?

One word: fantastic.

I’m looking forward to this! It looks great so far

Looking very nice! Scribbled it down on my shopping list.

Been watching the development of this for years. Phenomenal model and texturing.

Thanks much for your comments, guys!

Actually I’m considering this, but I don’t think it will come with the initial release. Most likely with a later update.

Thank you SolarEagle and nice to still see you around after all those years.
Don’t know if you ever noticed it, I’m still quoting you on my old FSX Fw190 page. :grinning:

… myself (and some other aviatrix aficionados) are waiting to replicate Elly Beinhorns flights:

so hopefully you do the 80 HP engine as well!

You probably mean the L26 with the Siemens SH13?
This here is the 82 hp KL25 Version with the Hirth HM60R2 engine.
I’m afraid I won’t be doing an L26 because there’s close to zero info available for this type as far as drawings go since most of the Klemm archives got lost in a fire after a bombing raid in WWII. The fuselage is a bit wider, the wings are basically the same though.

Oh, should you struggle with metric units you can click on that meters/feet conversion tab left hand and you’ll get some overlay stickers with units in knots, feet and gallons.

Default factory paint, wooden parts covered with a clear coat, metal and fabric surfaces painted in “silver-bronce”, kind of a metallic paint.
The wooden planking is only 1.6 mm thick Oregon Pine, so it curls in a similar way to the fabric covering, btw.

Your FW-190 series were among my favorite aircraft in FSX and you really set a new standard back then. I’m convinced if you would port them over to MSFS without any changes they would still hold up with most current releases.

I’ve been following your Klemm progress since your first post in 2021 and it looks like you’re setting a new standard again. Your attention to detail is incredible. Thank you for everything you do!

I’ve been lucky enough to see D-EJOL fly a few times and I can’t wait to fly your version of it =)

Can’t say that in English…

Some more work done on the factory paint:

Stunning work! Your wood textures look just like the real thing. I wasn’t aware of LX-MAF before, that’s quite an attractive paint scheme.

I recently stumbled onto this Hungarian Klemm 25, is there any chance you’ll do that one too? It’s also unusually colorful for a Klemm 25.

Hey Stearman,
yes, the hungarian paint scheme is on the list. Will look into the others.

Awesome! Thanks =)

This looks quite exceptional. Looking forward to it even though it’s not a plane I had on my list I thing the attention to detail alone is worth buying it!

I hope you will find time to revisit you Bf108 Taifun for MSFS as well. The one currently available by IniBuilds was below expectations.
