If all you want is a map, the free pms50 package is fine. Remove the WTT addon and it should work fine
thank you very much, how do i get the 2 more displays to workā¦?
There is an avionics switch behind your right shoulder on wing level, next to the pitot heat switch. The magnetos and light switches are also in that area.
The DoubleEnder is great fun! Like a beach buggy for the skies!
I am a big fan of your planesā¦
But I canāt get the map to work in the Navi-Display, can this be due to the latest updates in MSFS2020, I read something that the maps are no longer displayedā¦
What do I need if I use the PMS50 Freeware, what about the Replacement Modā¦sorry, I have no ideaā¦
For the PMS 650 to show up, you only need the PMS50 pack installed.
If it is red in addons linker, then that typically means that it is duplicated in one of your addons directories, or possibly something installed it directly into your community folder. You need to track that down and remove the duplicate.
If you want WTT Nav support, then you do need the replacement mod installed alongside the DoubleEnder.
click the SD card to switch to the PMS version
what you mean with SD Cardā¦?
on the left bezel of the 650 there is a SD card slot, you can see the edge of it. click that.
many many thanksā¦
Anyone else have this problem.
With both engines running, turning off both magnetos to the front engine will shut down the engine.
Turning off both magnetos to the rear engine shows the engine still running on the external view.
What I notice is that the rear engine start switch is stuck in the on position, it looks like the engine switch is keeping the engine turning. The only way to stop the rear engine is to turn off the battery.
Anyone else have the rear engine start switch stuck in the on position?
Iām not having that issue. It very much sounds like a hardware binding is forcing that engine to be on.
Startdrifter
Thanks for suggesting it could be a hardware problem within my system.
This is the only twin engine plane I have flown, my trustmaster engine control system has two engine start switches, engine switch two was on. Turned it off and now everything is working as it should.
Nice thing about finding out what was wrong is I can now start both engines from the thrustmaster setup, as usual, it turns out to be something minor.
Iāve had something similar happen so many times that it jumped out at me. Glad you got it sorted. Happy flying!
Another little run in this today, out to the Channel Islands off of Santa Barbara, CA (not the Jersey/Guernsey/Alderney/Sark ones, although those are also good places to fly, of course). Which are a good place to go if you want a quick little bush flight action ā you can get to them in about half an hour from SB or Oxnard/Point Hueneme (pronounced āwhy-KNEE-meā if you non-locals want to sound smart), and there are a few little dirt/grass strips used by the Park Service and researchers doing work on the islands (which are a protected national park).
Just a fantastic little plane. Hard to believe it was once a Cubā¦ Itās just so much moreā¦ useful than a Cub. And beautifully modeled and textured, of course. And a bit more refined and docile than the Wilga. (No oars, thoughā¦)
Yet another GF plane that I thought I didnāt need or want that I of course wound up buying and loving once I saw it in action. Joiningā¦ all the other GF planes. I think itās time to stop doubting and just accept that Iām going to get whatever GF comes up with, no matter how ridiculous it seems. āOur next project is the Robin Reliant space shuttle from Top Gear, except with a Twin Wasp in front to go with the rocket propulsion. And floats.ā Yeah, sure, sign me upā¦!
Great low and slow plane. I really like it and the awesome visibility for sightseeing. I find it very sensitive on braking though. It likes to tip over under no power and light braking. I wonder if it would be like that IRL. Seems unlikely I think.
Seems likely to me. The two high mounted engines (the heaviest parts of the aircraft) plus the pilot sitting pretty far forward should put the center of gravity pretty high from the main gear.
When you lock the brakes the whole thing has no chance but to swing forward. I highly recommend binding the brakes to a control axis so you can dose the braking power just right.
I agree. Control axis is pretty much a must. Still canāt help thinking those planes would be regularly written off if they had this tendency IRL
They would. You slamming on 100% brake would be like pulling the hand-brake in your car when going down the highway.
Pull back on the stick, pull flaps up after landing, and if youāre limited to a button for brakes, pulse it instead of just turning it on.
I know. I didnāt say Iām āslamming breaksā. Gradual brake application still takes load way off the tail wheel and tends to tip the plane. Also, at very low speeds pulling back on stick has obviously far diminished effect and thatās exactly when the plane likes to tip. Maybe itās exactly like it should be but then I recon āWe-Fix-Planes Corporationā are very happy
Well, at least you donāt get a prop strike with the DoubleEnder. Please donāt ask how I know that.
