This airport’s most unique feature is the gravestones incorporated into one of the active runways. Since there’s nothing about them in the video, I think we can assume they’ve not been included. This dev appears to have some potential but their airports (like DominicDesignTeam’s) seem to place too much emphasis on the terminals and not a lot elsewhere.
hmmm bought the scenery, but just as with EDDK I have some bad fps looking in 1 direction to the trees from the airport. EDDK also has the same amount of tress around it, I think that could be the culprit. Photogrammetry trees ( looks ugly also )
Pretty good scenery overall but with some issues. It’s far better than the msfscenerybuilders version of course.
The terrain around the taxiway into the main terminal looks really bad, there’s a ditch surrounding it which is very blocky and just looks broken. Also, around the main FBO ramp you can see parts of some planes in the satellite imagery that the ramp didn’t cover.
Overall though the rest looks pretty good. For me one of the nicest touches is that they replaced the awful photogrammetry cranes at the port on the Savannah River with 3D models. The photogrammetry for Savannah is really bad but those were by far the biggest eyesore when flying in here.
I think the default would be better than that!
I’m not surprised there’s lot of untouched default ground imagery left in. This dev is notorious for it and it really detracts from an airport scenery. I’m not suggesting they pay the price of custom ortho but a bit of modelling wouldn’t go amiss.
If they’re not included those gravestones on one of the runways, that’s very careless.
As Savannah is my home airport, I am about to pick this up. I can tell though that the exact portion of the runway that contains the Dotson’s graves is shown in one of the promo images, and the graves are not shown. I suppose it is possible the the screen captures could have been pre-final, and they were added afterwards, but I am not expecting to see them.
I wish I would have known this was being worked on. I have close up pictures of the headstones imbedded in the runway I would have gladly provided to them to use to include in the product. Ironically, it appears that the two other family graves that are not in the runway, but off in the grass, do appear to be shown in the same image. Im guessing they just happened to be visible in the imagery that they sourced for the non-runway ground. Too bad. Those two can only be seen from time to time, typically right after a good mowing of the grass. But Richard and Catherine’s graves are very obvious, in the runway surface, if you know where to look.
The texture from the taxiway to runways look low res. I think I’ll pass on this one.
Hummm are they in the correct location? Looking at your image, one thing I notice right away is that they are both backwards. And very dirty looking. The airport staff actually keep the markers remarkably clean looking, considering their location.
I have downloaded and installed but have not had a chance to actually try the scenery yet. Keeping my fingers crossed
Yup, they’re backwards, but seem to be in the right place.
Good catch. I wonder if flipping the texture files would correct it? Might have to check later.

I have looked and looked but I have not found the associated texture file. I am wondering if perhaps they had a good image, but have placed the object below the surface texture layer, so all the black skidmarks are displaying above the clean image. If so they may be able to correct the look by simply moving the headstone object above the texture layer
I looked last night and came to the same conclusion. I can’t find the headstone texture anywhere. So I think what you mentioned might be the only path forward.
With the 45% off sale at Orbx, I just picked this up. Must say, I’m a little disappointed. There is some positivity here but lots of very careless work, overseen by little in the way of quality control.
The terminal’s interior night-lighting is non-existent — nothing worse than arriving on stand to be greeted by a pitch-black terminal, devoid of life. In fact, the entire airports feels somewhat lifeless.
A shame as I previously bought Harlingen which, while not perfect either, suffers from far fewer immersion-breaking flaws. It would be good to see this dev continually improve as there is certainly potential there.
I have been looking at Jacksonville but Savannah has put me off a little… not least because Jacksonville is an older product!
This dev puts out pretty sloppy products and I will not buy any more airports from them. I regret buying KSAV but at least it was on sale. I really dislike the ground texturing on all of their airports. The centerlines aren’t even placed straight on this one. I made the mistake of buying a couple others form them in the past and always hope to see developers improve over time so I decided to get it. I actually have their KJAX as well and would say it is just a tad better than KSAV but not sure I’d recommend that either unless it’s on sale. Price point should be much lower for this type of quality IMO. When they release an airport every couple weeks, that should tell you something…
