Yep, I agree the minimum brightness is still a bit much. Scorches the 'ol retinas a bit, but only depending on where you’re looking (stupid MSFS eye adapation thing…). The best you can do is press and hold the avionics dimmer switch down for 5-10 seconds. It does take a while to dim all the way.
I am not sure how the WT G1000 is handling the brightness function because the “auto” function on the PFD is locked out and adjusting the brightness on that same menu does not seem effective in the FSR500. In the SWS Kodiak, I always use manual brightness. However, if you dial it below 5% then often that display will shut down and you must take a few steps to recover. So perhaps this is a bug that Raul is avoiding by setting a brightness lower limit.
