Hey Everyone!
Got Gravel, Mykrode, twoseventyinc, and I have been working overtime to bring you the latest Gee Bee R3 Special Update. This update is coming soon to Flightsim.to, SimMarket and the Official Marketplace. Let me start by saying, this was no easy task. We kept our community promise and we are proud to say, “We’ve fixed the Scaling Issues.” With that being said, we were able to fully preserve our UVs. This was not an easy task and we hope that all livery artists appreciate the painful process to redo various modeling while keeping their liveries compatible. Ok, so let’s talk about the biggest changes.
#1: The Gee Bee R3 has been fully up-scaled and sized appropriately for VR and real human scale. This is a permanent fix, included by default. This is how we should have modeled it from the start and boy did it bring some wild innovation.
Not only are we fully VR compatible by default now, but the aircraft had some “growing” pains. Because of the increase in size, the flight model and engine model was FULLY redone. A new flight model, build for racing and aerobatics. Still nimble, still agile, still nerve riding, and most importantly, still FUN! On top of the flight model, we have removed the Lycoming AEIO-580-B1A engine. This isn’t your toy plane anymore; wings spanning 37.20 feet, the Gee Bee is bigger, stronger and pushing the envelopes of a P51! This required a massive engine, one of which has never existed to our performance. Luckily for us, the Gee Bee R3 is a concept aircraft.
Introducing the Got Friends Jimmy Doolittle Turbo 1000HP Water Injected Engine (GF-DOOLITTLE-1000TW)! Named after Mr. Doolittle himself; Having won the Schneider, Bendix, and Thompson Trophy races, Doolittle had become one of the greatest pilots in air racing history, we have topped this aircraft out to a Maximum Speed of 262kts/485kph! Like we said, this is a whole new aircraft!
#2: We have added a G-Force Light Bar indicator in the cockpit in replacement of the G-Force Gauge on the dashboard. The new Nitrous Oxide Gauge has taken the spot of the old G-Meter. No more awkward peeking over the throttle to see your NOS tank levels. The new Light Bar can be turned off or on by clicking the unit and provides a real time indication of G-Force Feedback.
#3: Effects! After our latest projects, we have had practice at our effects. Smoke looks better, we have added ground level dust tracks for low flying, better lights, and Engine Combustion! NOS Effects? Oh yeah, like little after burners hitting maximum heat on your exhaust pipes.
#4: 3D Model Changes: Smoother Animations, Upscaled Texture Quality, Shaped Yoke Cushions, and Fine Tuned Modeling. This Gee Bee R3 is looking fantastic and if you thought it looked good before, it looks better now! She finally feels alive and our team will be releasing previews soon.
#5: Fully re-written XML Coding and CFGs for native compatibility and a more fine-tuned simulation. No more issues on Xbox, no WASMs, more complexity, and more realism. We have put countless hours of work ensuring this update will last through multiple Sim Updates.
We hope you all enjoy these details and our team can’t wait to share more information and previews with you in the near future! Our team will have this update to you on or before the release of the new Local Legends coming this month. Stay Tuned, and as always, thank you for supporting Got Friends!
