How is the behavior of the aircraft, so far, on Xbox?
Handling? Great IMO. Maybe the best feeling aircraft yet for Hotas. I kept my single engine prop settings (low sensitivity) and have greased three approaches/landings so far.
That said it seems overly sensitive to wind. I’m flying custom weather with low wind and AP is blowing all around.
xbox x. I don’t have much experience with bizjets but in anticipation of this release spent a few hours yesterday flying the stock (premium) citation longitude which isn’t bad but this is way above that in terms of depth of avionics and systems modeling.
I actually had some stutters/performance issues with the longitude but no issues at all with hjet at this point. Highly recommended, especially on xbox.
I’m not sure how often I’ll use the navigraph integration since it’s easier to use on a separate tablet, but just the fact that it was implemented shows how much work went into this.
This might make me take the brave pill and not only buy from the Marketplace, but also fly glass for the first time in around 15 months.
VTEC just kicked in, yo!
Loving this HondaJet, I’m surprised nobody else made the VTEC joke before I did. The frame rate was really stuttery at first, but I realized I had an older version of the WT G3000 installed and updated it. The interior is very nice, the cockpit controls are very well organized and uncluttered. The pitch seems really sensitive while the roll is the exact opposite, but I’ll get used to that. It has both the advantages and disadvantages of a straight wing like the early Cessna “Slowtations”, lower top speed but also lower landing speed. I look forward to seeing how short of runways I can take off and land from.
Right! After the grief that was SU9 for a lot of Xbox users Navigraph integration coming out of the blue is something I didn’t expect to see so early! Happy days on console too.
Will this plane get “VR focus” implemented? Without it, most labels are nearly impossible to read. “VR focus” implementation should be standard for MSFS releases…
From their discord:
- Marketplace incorrectly states that you need WT G3000 installed.
THIS IS NOT NEC. The g3000 suite is included in your hjet package and functions independently from the stand alone WTG3000
Has anyone got the CSC mode to work? Mine just flashes, my throttles are out of MCT too. Any ideas?
Not sure why folks automatically assume alot of these 3rd party addon products are developed with the intentions of VR use. Alot of products just happen to simply run and render in VR quite fine.
There are very few 3rd party devs who own and deal with VR compatibly and would even go out as much to put a “VR Tested & Optimized” disclaimer on their product’s description.
Not all 3rd party addon devs particularly care nor are owners of VR HMDs, so you can’t expect your VR concerns and questions to be acknowledged with any sort of understanding nor affirmation.
I have several issues with marketplace products, none of which have anything to do with their actual buying process. I’ll detail some of them below.
-
You have no fine control over which add-ons get loaded in when you launch the sim, so you have to launch all of them.
-
Some add-ons, especially aircraft and avionics can potentially conflict with one another. Because of the issue listed in #1, this has the potential of being a major problem. This is why I use Add-ons Linker and only load the plane and avionics I’m using for the current flight. This solution doesn’t work for Marketplace products.
-
The more add-ons you have activated, the longer it takes to launch the game. If you’re buying exclusively from the Marketplace, you have no control over this.
-
Marketplace is ALWAYS much slower to receive product updates. Doesn’t matter how much they improve, they can’t match the update speed of other platforms.
-
The aforementioned issue with ridiculous planes taking up the wrong parking spaces. This includes small GA aircraft parked at gates, as well as water-based aircraft parked on the ground.
Wait…so you mean Marketplace addon’s aircraft.cfg file’s isAirTraffic=0 command can’t be edited?Ohhh how could they? How could they encrypt certain file’s that pretty much function as actual cfg options?
But…but…but don’t you hear CaptHawkeye50’s plight?
He’s asking for simple changes to cfg files, that are pretty much options??
Seems like a pretty common sense liberty for users to have access to such files.
Nice article on the Hondajet here on the AOPA site - well worth reading to get a sense of what it’s like to fly…
Enjoying this one already- will join the Kodiak 100 and C337 Skymaster in my “most flown” collection
I use an Xbox controller/Keyboard & Mouse on PC. Will this be OK for the HJ?
Well first flight complete. This plane is another amazing add-on. A truly study level Biz Jet, with all the trimmings. Fabulous flight dynamics as well.
My only issues were, CSC I cant get it to work, and when I pressed approach to line up on the ILS it nose dived so I took over. Over all simply amazing, a true labour of love!
Approach and flight plan was all ok too
So they released this without any documentation, check lists, etc? Not particularly impressed.
Couple of first impressions - for whatever reason, the aircraft pulls to the left while taking off (and no, the wind was coming from the opposite direction. However, it’s very susceptible to crosswinds when landing, to the point where I couldn’t keep in on the runway during landing with what I believe (am not sure since apparently there are no manuals) to be a pretty moderate crosswind component.
Also - very hard to bleed off speed, no idea if this is a trait of the real thing or not.
Lastly, it seems almost overpowered. Quite easy to quickly overspeed in level flight and once in the red, even a very cautious maneuver tends to result in a crash.
Not much else I can add, need to spend some quality time with this jet.
Interesting, I have the exact opposite experience on Xbox. No pull during take off (most planes do for me). Seems to be under powered to me and takes a while to get to v1. Especially when compared to the citation jets. Which seems to be accurate.
I find it very easy to slow down using air brakes.
There is an interactive checklist built into their branch of the WT G3000. First one I’ve seen on a small jet. Very detailed.
Does anyone get a red CAS “Takeoff configuration” warning when, uh, taking off?
I’ve utilized the checklists, so I am fairly sure I’m not missing something.
Anyone have any insight?
