RELEASED! Just Flight Bae146 "the Little Jumbojet" April 29th

Is there a trick to control the stairs? Mine won’t retract. Pressing the green button on the EFB does not help.

You need sufficient hydraulic pressure for the stairs to work.

Congratulations to Just Flight on this outstanding release. Aerodynamics, inertia, moments around c of g all modelled rather nicely making the thing a challenge at times. I tried the other major aircraft release this weekend and its not a patch on the 146 at all. So, this is a great aircraft, well done!

FWIW I don’t get any kind of stuttering whatsoever, and I’m hardly on a high-end rig.

Same here :+1:

I couldn’t resist. All the systems stuff is beyond my capacity but I’ll slowly chip away at learning it. Happy to say it’s really nice and satisfying to VFR hand fly this thing!

Did a little flight from RAF Valley (Wales) to Dublin International (Ireland) and it was very enjoyable. They wanted me to land on RWY10R so I had to eyeball the 180 degree left turn to final, l slowed her down and a beautiful straight and gentle landing!

Slight issue is I didn’t hear the Tower gave me a go around call at the last moment (was concentrating on controlling the plane!) so got a wrist slapping and A320 facing me half way down the runway but I managed to slow enough and turn off to taxiway JUST before would-be contact.

The 146 feels so nice. Weighty but accurate. Now I probably did 100 things wrong but didn’t get any alarms or a call from the boss, so hey!

Don’t be so cryptic ?

There isn’t an INS in this bird. It would have a GPS signal for the FMS, instead.

Everything about this add-on is a 10/10. I’m blown away by the level of detail and sound quality.

And the aircraft handles so beautifully, that I find myself hand-flying her pretty much all the time (other than cruise).

Another JF masterpiece.

I’m sorry but it’s completely unflyable.
My trim control knob for elevators instantly goes to 100% if it move it one single atom in either direction.

Works fine in all other aircraft!

The other issue is the map keeps going black to load more squares, very annoying.

Otherwise, a beautiful model with outstanding audio, i look forward to being able to fly it one day…

Just got one question… Sync mode (afterburner mode..)… how do I access or look for this in my key mapping???
I was trying hard to find “sync mode” when I got back from work (alittle tired) following the brilliant short justflight tutorials… couldn’t for the life of me understand in a tired state then just before going to bed I did A320simpilot and that’s when he went into a little detail about sync mode

I think this was also mentioned a few times while I was working last night (getting all excited as I was reading about all you lucky folk getting to fly it…) something about sync mode being the afterburner key button (a key binding I have yet to find…) Actually something that I’ve never been bothered with as I’ve only flew the F18 once… not a fight jet dude… So I’ve never tried finding it…

One question… using Xbox contoller, how could I setup the Airbrake (spoilers) to be analogue?

I was hoping that the Extend and Retract options here are linear incremental (exactly like throttle, mixture, prop RPM works with a button press) but it’s bascially the same as the Toggle option but only operating in one direction per assigned button. It still only goes to either 0% or 100%,

I tried using the Axis with a trigger (screen below) and it kind of works in that I can hold the trigger at different points and the Airbrake opens more or less but you need to keep holding the trigger to maintain that % AND after the first use, it only closes back to 50% on release of the trigger. Can’t open it less than 50% at all.

Any way to basically make the HANDLE move with buttons, so that it stays where it is when you let go (like Throttle)?

I have seen that too.

And going from Exernal view to Cockpit I see a flash of clipped pilot / copilot models for a frame. Nothing major! It’s really nice so far - even on my lowly system.

Search for Afterburner. It’s there in Instuments & Systems > Engine Instruments if that is what you mean

I’d have to check again, but pretty certain I used the other spoiler axis (the one with 0-100) for that.
I have two Logitech quadrants side by side and the airbrake/spoiler lever works great on quadrant 1 axis x (have reversed it so that it matches the position/direction in the cockpit). Q1Ay is unused, Q1Az is throttle one, then the second quadrant has the remaining throttles. All throttles also have the reverser button set to turn fuel on with the “set fuel valve [1-4]” binding.
Plus I am super happy that I am able to use nosewheel tiller steering without rudder on my joystick’s z axis.

So, when using the TMS in TGT mode, I cannot select a TGT <600C, as the hundreds column will not spin down to 5. Is this the correct behaviour or a bug?

Thanks for that mate…

I’m pretty sure I was reading something about it last night while at work (which went over my head) Then getting home and learning to fly and being like 100 threads down in this post…
So from what I kinda gather now, correct me if I’m wrong..
Is the sync mode button an actual button you click in the plane or… or is that one of those buttons that is linked with something else ( like how the water rudder is the HUD, crj or weapons, F4 corsair) in this case, the afterburner button for sync mode??

No worries. Yea that’s how I understood it but I haven’t got as far as setting that up yet

I tired that too, but that permanently stays at 0%.

Maybe you missed that I’m trying this on Xbox controller

I do have a yoke + throttle quadrant (just one Logitech) so probably need to take this plane serious and use my desk setup - but I often play in bed to chill before crashing out heheh.

I guess I’d have to have all 4 engines bound to 1 lever and use one of the others for Airbrake and 3rd for…??? Jets don’t need Mixture, right?

It’s one of several buttons on the TMS (page 155 of the manual , if you want a picture).

Seeing as it’s a sizeable button on the main panel and there are several other modes that you may need to use in your flight, I personally wouldn’t waste a controller designation on it.
