[RELEASED] Miltech Simulations Supercarrier Pro for MSFS

I was able to do a first launch and landing at a moving carrier using the default FA-18. Then I tried the BN-2 Islander and it also worked.

But using the Transall or the Caribou I don’t see the 3D-models at all. Not in interior view and also not in exterior view. Also the carrier is mostly invisible.

What can I do?

Supercarrier Pro v1.4.0 - FS2024 Update has been Released!

As with all other FS24 updates, this is a FREE update for those who already own Supercarrier Pro for FS2020. The update will be available shortly at all distributors (Except MS Marketplace, since FS24 Marketplace is still not open for submissions).

  • Improved compatibility for FS2024, including new optimized model LODs.
  • Various fixes to the Supercarrier App and underlying carrier functionalities, as several functions were impacted.
  • New FLOLS and LRLS system, as FS24 ceased support for the legacy TopGun systems.
  • Improved lighting compatibility.

NOTE: There is an existing issue with excessive ship movement/sway in high-wave conditions, due to the new water physics simulation. At this time, MSFS2024 does not support configuring the mass or size of the ship, and as such sway is directly equal to the amplitude of the wave, which results in excessive movement. Asobo is aware of this problem and we expect a fix soon. In the meantime, please use the carriers in low-wind conditions.

I love this add-on, but I have an unusual problem when I land a helicopter on an escort vessel (cruiser/destroyer): I can land perfectly with the helo, but a moment after I come to a stop, my helo becomes “fixed” in space, and the ship shoots out from under me with the result that when I am no longer being supported by the deck, I flop into the drink.
I promise I am not drinking…
Has anyone else experienced this? It sems to be limited to DDGs and CGs-

Any waves by any chance?
This sounds similar to this note above.. Though interestingly the aircraft should be moving with the ship. I’ll take a look

UK Carrier Strike Group v2.0.2 (MSFS2024 Compatibility Update) has just been released to distributors and will be available for download in a few hours!

Not a major update, just addressing compatiblity issues on the new simulator. Similar to Supercarrier Pro in FS24, the carrier will only work correctly in calm seas due to an existing FS24 Bug resulting in exaggerated vertical deflections due to the waves. Asobo is aware and working on a solution.

New Supercarrier Update scheduled to release today (Contrail, ORBX - 1/2 weeks processing time on MS Marketplace)

Supercarrier Pro v1.4.1 - (LATEST VERSION FS20/FS24)

  • Universal version for MSFS 2020 & 2024, unified in a single distribution package for ease of future maintenance
  • Added Compatibility with future Miltech Mission Hub
  • Changed sizing of carrier data (distance, bearing, heading) in approach tab
  • Quick taxi takes controller input directly
  • FLOLS now uses custom model & improved tuning
  • Modern arrestors simulate bolter (also for aircraft without tailhook)
  • Added keybind controls:
    Catapult: TOGGLE EXTERNAL SYSTEM
    Quick Taxi: SET EXTERNAL SYSTEM
  • Fixed hiding of catapult crew after launch (30s timer)
  • Improved teleport consistency
  • Improved (pre)spawn positions for MSFS 2024

should we expect to see it in the Xbox MSFS Marketplace for 2024??

Yes, it is for both FS20 and FS24

Do you know why the Quick Taxi doesn’t work on Xbox 24? The anti and back taxi controls are like braking, although I have removed all the brakes, wind 0, static cv. When the platform climbs the bridge The plane bounces and everything goes jerkily. Any solution please?

  • Plane goes jerkily on the elevator: This generally only occurs on static locatons (moving locations handle this better), and unfortunately it is a simulator limitation. The physics on MSFS aren’t designed for this kind of movement, and as such it isn’t fluid enough.

  • Plane goes Jerkily under other conditions: this is a FS2024-wide issue, it occurs due to windspeed. Reduce your windspeed and it wont happen. In short, the new wave simulation does not interact well with ships, exaggerating the sway excessively. We have reportes this to Asobo.

  • Quick taxi INOP: Which aircraft are you using? We have noticed that in the case of the stock F18, you need to have the engines on for it to detect movement of the controls.

Moving carrier can’t be used because it won’t let me get out to remove the covers (the plane is moving), pitot tubes, etc., there’s no crew on deck, and the automatic taxi is useless if I need to start the engine. Are you planning on updating the product description, or are you just selling something we won’t get?

  • To remove pitot covers/chocks/etc in FS24 Moving Carriers, just use the “Quick Preflight” keybind (configure on your MSFS Controls settings and map to one key). This will remove everything on preflight, even on moving ships. Unfortunately, there is a hardcoded simulator limitation preventing walkarounds on moving ships.
  • Quick Taxi only requires engines on in certain specific aircraft. One of such aircraft is the stock FA18. This is due how hydraulic systems have been setup and how the joystick input is being detected. We are looking into potential solutions for this.
  • All 4 catapults should have crew when activated and armed. However, “idle crew” is not currently available on FS24 due to the removal of all libraries including these characters from the streaming content library. We are sourcing new models to replace these.

Supercarrier Pro is built on several “workarounds” as many of these functions are not natively supported in the sim. Particularly with FS24, several new challenges have been introduced. We have, and actively are, working to continue improving and maturing the project, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in MSFS.

Thanks for your always timely and precise responses. I eagerly await updates. In the meantime, I recommend updating the product description and changing the image so that users know what they’re buying. Besides the disappointment of receiving a different product than the one in the photo, we waste a lot of time trying to figure out if we’re doing something wrong, given that it doesn’t work as it should, when you know exactly why it doesn’t work. This answer should be included in the product description on the marketplace.

There is a limited character count on Marketplace descriptions - most of the info above is on our manual: docs.miltechsimulations.com

Picking this up along with the Skyraider! Excited to give it a try.

But curious…

It’s the 2-year anniversary of that post.

Guessing not 2025 at this point? Hopefully soon, would be nice for both WW2 birds and doing some Korea-era straight-deck stuff in the Skyraider.

USS Intrepid is being added to Supercarrier Pro in a couple weeks - for no additional cost!

Is there any fix coming for the flickering all over the screen in VR?
I loaded up a plane in San Diego last night and saw it and it took me a minute to realize one of your carriers must be near!

I also have the flickering
