Removing a mod after a Microsoft update?

Nooo. I could not agree less.

Look at the dates on the files.

flight_model.cfg is dated 22/12/20, which is the date of the last sim update, and so should be the current correct file.

flight_model - ORIGINAL is dated 18/08/20 which was the sim release date, so that is the original file from the release of the sim in August.

No way am I going to overwrite the current file with the out of date one.

I was more asking if anyone knew what created the - MODIFIED vesion. I thought maybe a mod had backed up the files and done some changes to the working version at some point.

But now I’m starting to think that I do have the current correct file in place anyway, so the MODIFIED and ORIGINAL versions are probably just dross now and can be deleted.

I’ve made an extra copy of the current working files now so that I can check this out properly after the next sim update in the next few days. I hear they have done more work on the TBM930 so some of these files will probably be changing.

Obviously before the update I will remove all mods from the sim and reintroduce them slowly, testing at each stage.

That was named that way when the mod was installed, so you would have a copy of the originals if you needed them.
You do have the correct file in place now.
What you should do, immediately before starting the update, rename the current one thus keeping it, and as I mentioned, restore the original.
That way MSFS will not overwrite your file and ruin it.
It will over write the default, which you restored.

I had to look at your files closer, This is the first I’ve seen a mod do that.
Did you install anything that used it’s own installer, rather than dragging it into the community folder?

If not, what TBM mods did you install?

I’m running the TBM-Improvement 0.3.4 mod, the Carbon cockpit mod, and the workingtitle mod.

Not run any mods which run an installed.

Not to worry. I think I’m all good, and will check the files again after the next big update next week.
