Reorder tool crashes system every time

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Selection of Reorder tool causes list to appear but coupled with multi-coloured flashing of just the tool area, and subsequently a full CTD.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every time the tool is accessed.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Access the Reorder tool through the Settings menu or Dev mode

I fully reinstalled MSFS 2024, with an empty Community folder, but the result was the same.

What peripherals are you using, if relevant:

Not relevant.

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?
No changes made but fault is reproduced both by directly accessing Reorder, as well as through the Dev mode.

[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?

DX12

RTX 5090

Ryzen 9 9950 X3D, 64Gb 6000Hz DDR5

Difficult to reproduce flashing!

Just started having same problem, except it does not crash the sim, but freezes it. I am manually editing Content.xml as a workaround.

It appears to be the “Smooth motion” option in the Nvidia app that is causing this. Turn it off and everything works OK - apart from unrelated bugs in the sim, of course!

Moved to User Support Hub since a solution has been marked.
