Repeated crashes on FS24 PC (VR) since this weeks update

Following to update I installed this week on PC-FS24, I have had a CTD on 100% of my flight attempts while in VR. Although it happens regardless, I’ve found a sequence where I can make it happen. If I do this sequence, it crashes immediately. If I don’t do this sequence and just start my normal flight processes, it will crash some time before I can complete my taxi to the departure runway. (I have completely emptied my community folder, without the problem still occurring.)

  1. free flight

  2. load my flight plan via EFB, from file on this PC.

  3. change my starting location to the ramp, and start flight

  4. after flight loads, start flight

  5. enter VR, and center view (starting location is outside craft, ready for walkaround)

  6. press ESC and choose settings

  7. in settings go to VR and change graphics from custom to high-end.

MSFS freezes, crashes and force closes

Prior to this update, I ran my sim on ULTRA and at start of flight I usually saw 50+ FPS. Since this update, it loads up at ~30 FPS.

Again, if I don’t run this sequence I get the same result, but it just happens somewhere between entering the aircraft and taxiing regardless of an empty or usual files community folder.

After months of error-free issues and no changes to my files/addons, I’ve had no successful flights, or even take-offs since this update.

Also having waaay more CTDs and Freeze Crashes since the SU5 Update that I now consider ‘not normal’. VR is the lonely stepchild of MSFS… PC with 7950x3D / 4080.

Same. So depressing as SU4 worked so well. I’ve had almost every flight in SoCal end in a random CTD or graphics hang pop-up, as sometimes graphics memory eventually becomes exausted. This is with a 4080 with 16GB, and a 9800x3d with 48GB of RAM, cleared Nvidia caches, and rolling cache.

Edit: Both Mamu’s and Bjianstudio’s add-on seem to be causing the trouble. I wish Asobo would alert the developers when the beta SUs are nearly frozen and give another week or two to iron out bugs in third-party add-ons.
