Repeated CTD's 1.18.14.0 & 1.18.15.0

I have Process Lasso and I’ve used it in the past, during the first months after release to mitigate the stuttering. Should I uninstall Process Lasso completely, is that what you did? Because I can’t remember what configs I’ve messed with lol.
Before your reply, I’ll go ahead and uninstall it because I don’t use it for anything else.
I’ll comeback here to share my findings

Edit. I have another program called “Park Control” that unparks idle cores, as soon as I uninstalled Process Lasso it gave a warning saying the energy plan was changed, I have no idea if that can influence anything, but I’ll keep that in mind when testing

Edit 2: Tried without Process Lasso, the sim froze right around 5min after starting the flight, this time it did not crashed to the desktop. It froze, with sound on. In the process manager CPU % is 3% and RAM 3GB

Yeah I’ve reinstalled 3x now… once bc I wanted a clean install, the other times by accident as I was verifying game files and when you do that for some reason it makes you reinstall the sim… this issue sucks, I look forward to getting home after work and flying now I can’t do that. Constant CTD

Finally my trick (stopping the overclooking) didn’t work, I got a CTD again when launching the flight :frowning:

Same issue here. CTD’s at any stage of the sim. (Launching, menu, spawn-in) Happens at any time without warning. Man, what a colossal disappointment.

Community folder is empty. I’ve tried different resolutions and what not.

Yup, same here.
Constant CTD’s when zooming in world view trying to select dept and arr airports.

To bad. Never had any CTD’s before in all other versions.

Hi all! I’ve been following this thread trying to understand the CTDs that have been happening, but this has sort of been a catch-all for a lot of different CTDs so it’s been a little difficult to process specific ones. I’ve got a few poll question I’d love for you to answer to help identify or pinpoint the largest problems.

For those crashing during flight, have you turned off AI traffic? This is a known issue that will be fixed soon.

  • While trying to load into the menu
  • While on the world map
  • While loading into a flight
  • During flight

We have eyes on this thread and any specific details you are able to provide like 100% repros of your CTD is super helpful.

Please feel free to share your computer spec information as well to see if there are any patterns amongst the CTDs.

Thanks all, and we are sorry you are experiencing these issues and want to address and fix them as quickly as possible.

(As a reminder in case you haven’t, double-check all the troubleshooting tips here https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015893879-Crashing-CTDs-issues)

So, I’ve tried a clean reinstall + new and empty community folder, no 3rd parties from the marketplace loaded in. Still having constant CTDs, on the worldmap, loading screen, while taxiing or flying. Its just random, there is no clue for me how and when it happened. I could fly in MP for 2 hours, full packed with Addons, no problem. Now I’m trying some landing challenges without all the moddes stuff, had 3 CTDs with only one challenge completed.

I stopped trying tweaking configurations or looking for solutions outside the game. Microsoft should have checked this update before the release, like someone said here before - it totally feels like the game was adapted to xbox and this version was moved to the pc users.

Stopping OC? Messing with BIOS? What the hell? Some of us have top rigs to enjoy pc games on max settings and this game wasn’t even optimized for the rtx3080 and multi threading so far.

Turning off the AI traffic didn’t help, settings on low didn’t help, deleting the community folder didn’t help, uninstalling all the marketplace addons didn’t help. Getting CTD in the world map screen and couldn’t start a single flight since the update, cause it ends with a crash 3 seconds after clicking on any premade flight (challenges etc).

Got i9 11th gen, rtx 3080, 32 ram. feels like im trying to run this game on a calculator.

Doing a clean install now, never had to reinstall a game so many times becuse of totally messed updates. It feels like every update so far only makes things worse, and the devs had so much time since the release date to get this game on tracks.

Total frustration, I was really waiting for this update after the promises of a better perfomance. Now there’s no perfomance at all.

after the 2021-07 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 11 for x64 (KB5004342) my msfs2020 CTD after some minutes.
The game starts with a lots of fps 69-71 for my personal setting, but after 10/20 sec drops to 30/35 fps and after some minutes CTD.
From the update i do 3 big flights for more than 1 hour each at 65/70 fps. Now CDT always with incredible loading time… #mannaggiasanta

I was unable to start a flight, cleared my community folder and it loaded ok. I then tried using the A32NX after re installing it in my community folder and crashed to desktop. I note that the FREE A32NX has been removed from marketplace which tells me that they have a problem with it?

It crashes all the time now, i could play this afternoon without any problems but now it crashes on the worldmap or if im lucky to get in a plane it crashed after 10 minutes in it. Im “impressed”.

Don’t even bother using A32nx, it’s not optimized for the last update. I doubt if any other 3rd party aircraft works. If you can start a flight at all with the basic planes, you’re lucky.

Bredock3D 737 works for me!

■■■■. In my case it was the thread affinities I had set a while ago that borked it. I just reset those and now FS is (fairly) stable. I do get the freezes sometimes, but musually it comes back. You can reset process lasso to default btw,no need to uninstall it

CTDs after Update to 1.18.13.1

  • all with empty community folder
  • no AI traffic (first only realtime traffic, then after reading about this issue no traffic at all)
  • crashs occured when loading into the sim before reaching menu, midflight, just after touchdown
  • longest flighttime without CTD was about 30 min
  • CTD occurs at different locations, i.e. EDDT, EDHD, KVNY
  • happend with different aircraft, so far I tried C172, C172 with floats, Bonanza
  • settings as they were working before update

PC specs:
Windows 10 Pro 21H1
OS Build 19043.1110

  • Ryzen 5 3600
  • Asus B450-M
  • Asus RTX 3070
  • 32 GB RAM
  • FS on M.2 SSD

PMDG DC-6 works fine and I’m currently using the FBW A32NX.

I would love to report my sim CTDing after 10 mins but it won’t even make it past the loading screen…which a year after release is just now bordering ridiculous.

This is a common problem with seasons or tree mods in your community folder, or even marketplace content. Should go check if you use some of them.

Same problem as everyone here. CTD while I haven’t had one before.
On the other hand, I may have a working track:
I noticed coherent GT errors in the debug window which did not exist before.
Which could explain the CDTs if there is a problem on Coherent.
I am trying to see with some person who has the simulation that works if they have these errors

Constant CTDs. Been playing since release, never had a single CTD before the update yesterday. Just after SU5, crashed almost every time on load screen. This morning managed to get to the menu and completed a 2h flight, then crashed when exiting runway. Since this afternoon, constant crashes in flight.

No identifiable pattern. Empty community folder. All marketplace 3rd party purchases uninstalled. AI Traffic disabled. All CTDs appear related to NET Framework with either 0xc0000005 exception or faulting module clr.dll.
