Resize and Scaling of the EFB in VR SU2 1.4.10

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: The double EFB (one active, one inactive) is fixed. However, the active EFB is too big and cannot be resized at all. All functions do work perfectly in VR though! Would be great to have a VR keyboard for FL or flightplan adjustments.

• Yes the Double EFB is now fixed, but the efb is not resizable and the scale is off.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• The scale of the EFB UI is incorrect and makes it very difficult to navigate the UI since everything is enlarged. Adding a VR keyboard would be great for managing flight plans etc.

• I have the same issue. EFB is functional, but way too big. The re-size buttons do not work making the EFB useless as it fills half the cockpit.

I can resize the tablet, move the muse to the end of the tablet so the cross appears, then hold right mouse button and use the scroll wheel.

That actually works, though what’s happening is strictly speaking not resizing the tablet but moving it closer or further away.

But definitely a technique worth knowing - I’ll have to try it on other toolbar windows.

I notice that now (I’m in SU2 Beta flighting build 1.4.13) selecting the orientation of the EFB in Settings does significantly reorient the EFB window.

However scaling is still broken, with only Horizontal/Small looking like it displays properly.

But, a little bit of progress - let’s hope the same can be said for the next flighting build if there is one.

• I have exactly the same problem, everything works but it cannot be re-scaled. Instead of a 8 inch tablet I have a 24" TV in the cockpit. A virtual keyboard for VR use is a great idea.

Same issue, tablet looks giant and the scaling is off. I know this has been logged but replying to make sure it doesn’t get de-prioritized against other things

This is one good example for the lack of communication from MS/AS-side. Status bug-logged and then silence… I really appreciate many things they have improved in this sim and I really enjoy playing the sim in VR. At least on my side it runs very well. But: I do wonder if MS/AS really thinks, that they solved the problem as stated in their dev update regarding this bug… It simply isn’t the same thing.

Wasn’t this supposed to be fixed by SU3?

It seems gone from the bug list. We need to resize in VR as it’s just too big….

maybe… but it isn’t fixed yet and yes that’s what i mean with lack of communication: it disappears from the list and nobody on this side of the conversation knows why.

The oversized EFB is the #1 reason I still only fly in 2020. In VR in 2024, the EFB block so much of your view, it is unusable, in my opinion. When they fixed the pop up EFB window functional, they also made it huge. FSKneeboard also got huge and it is now also useless.

But msfs 2020 doesn’t even have an EFB, so just dont use it in 2024. WHy would that make you stick with 2020?

There’s no other map option in 2024. In 2020 I can use the VFR map and/or FSKneeboard.

ahh but there is. Its a 3rd party option that I have been using since 2020. You can load your flightplans into it as well. It has the same functionality as the 2020 native EFB map and then some. And the basic version is free.

Your Microsoft Flight Simulator toolbox addon

Thanks. I’ll check that out.
(That said, for the record, the EFB is only my biggest complaint with 2024. I tried it again last night for the first in a long time. I lasted about 10 minutes and went back to 2020. :man_shrugging:)

I agree, the EFB is a pain in the rear. Its hard do do anything with it while flying because its the size of a large TV and blocks most of your view. I use it for checklists and plane loading, but Sky4Sim is a great piece of software.

I thought this bug was on the list as “Planned - SU_04” in the weekly development blog bug list, but now I’m not seeing it. Was I only dreaming that?

Still no resolution of this in SU5 Beta.

I do find it hard to believe that Asobo fly regularly in VR, yet do not mind having this massive panel in the cockpit. Yet another regression which I fear will never be fixed

I don’t understand why they don’t fix this. Who would want to open that giant EFB and fly like it’s ok?

This should be fixed by now.
