:white_check_mark: ISSUE DESCRIPTION

  1. Description of the issue:
all retractable gear aircraft in the sim taht I have tried are spawning with the gear selector positioned in the “up” position. Selector cannot be repositioned to the down position until after takeoff - an in some aircraft (G36) gear cannot be lowered.

  2. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
    None installed in MSFS 2024

How often does this occur for you? (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)
every time

:white_check_mark: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue.
load aircrat with retractable gear, and examine gear handle. Seems to happen in both free flight and career mode. In career mode, using G36, gear would not come back down. Have loaded Saab 340, Cessna 404, & G36 bonanza.

• Yes

• I have seen the same issue on the Seastar and the Saab. I noted that with the Saab I immediately restarted the flight and the lever was down. There is something happening with the initial load.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Well, I found my problem. I have a Turtle beach Velocity 1 flightstick, and the default binding for “Gear up” for that controller is having the right lever fullforward (“gear down” is also having the lever full aft.) I also bound that lever’s axis to the propeller axis, so anytime I put the lever full forward for the prop, it was also commanding gear up.

Hi @NixonRedgrave, could you have a binding conflict too as indicated by @AlphaHotel1043 ?

No. I do not have a binding conflict.

I have a Gear-specific lever on my Honeycomb Bravo that has the bindings set to:

The only other gear binding is the default 2024 keyboard Toggle Landing Gear.

I am still regularly seeing aircraft load with the gear lever in the up position.

I am wondering if the issue here is an initialization problem.

I have my Bravo’s gear lever to alter the state of the gear “On Release”, rather than “On Press”.

I wonder if there is a bug that doesn’t recognize the “On Release” until after the initialization of the aircraft and it is somehow initializing as an “On Press” on loading into the aircraft. This would sort of seem to make sense as the button that is being pressed when my gear lever is in the down position is associated with raising the gear “on release”. If it was treated as raising the gear “on press” then, yes, it would move the gear lever to the up position in the cockpit.

EDIT:

Yes, this is most likely what is happening.

I altered the bindings to be “On Press” and turned off “Input Repetition” (which was probably why I originally set them up as “On Release”, because the repetition was causing the gear position change to be constantly spammed) and it fixed this issue.
