Oppen cabin plane to use in our vfr trips

Vintage Manhattan

Rodes Colossus, acient world wonder
What would you guys think if 3rd party developers (it can be made by Micro$oft itself) decided to make retro scenery, lets say in 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s etc, and replicate the buildings, airfields and landmarks of those eras, based on pictures, aerial images and historical documents? We already have lots of nice retro airplanes. And, why not, even create sceneries of ages before flight was discovered, for example flying over acient Rome, Greece, Midage, and so on. People are already so amazed with the looks of nowadays world that was created for the sim… imagine being possible to fly in the past. Im not sure if anyone shares this same desire as i. This i think would grab a lot of casual simmer and gamers as well. Probably im delusional .
So, what place-and-time would you pick to be replicated? Id rather historical picks over fictional, but, your imagination be my guest.i can see “middle-earth” comming.

No way that would be awesome can just see doing a flight like the jurassic Park movie. Looking down over a field of dinosaurs. Nice idea

I’d like the early 60’s, start of the classic jet age. Seeing the old Pan Am/TWA terminals in New York for example, or doing the old Kai Tek approach in Hong Kong…
The airports filled with classic jet airliners…

I wish, before my time. I caught the tail end of the golden age in the early 70’s when I was a small child on my first jet flight. I remember everyone dressing as if they were going to church, and you got a multi-course meal on real plates even in economy. It’s been downhill ever since…lol

Ahhh… those magnificent men in their flying machines…
I’d love more open cockpit aircraft.
I was treated to a talk at my high school by Neta Snook when I had a ground school class in 1976.
Ms. Snook taught Amelia Earhart how to fly. An incredible woman, and a local resident at the time.
Jim-Sim
Edit: I suppose one of these with a Garmin G-1000 is out of the question?

Wow. I just realized that it is the 21st century. After that last patch, I thought it was 1980 again
…
I don’t understand OP’s post
Definitely 50’s and 60’s. In FS2004 my buddy and I had some Miami Airports scenery downloaded built to early 60’s airports. We also downloaded planes like the Convair, and would fly the old actu al routes using the actual timetables like linked below. Was always fun to see how close we could keep the time to the timetables. Back in those days those fight crews were really hustling, very little downtime between stops, just like a bus service. Barely enough time to offload and onload.

Imagine redoing that with nowadays graphics, not only for the airports but the cities and landscapes along the way… so cool!
Wow! This website would help a lot if anyone were willing to make it happen.

I think its a must that when we get some real nice retro planes like the Vega or DC-3 that we get some retro airports to go with it.
