Reverb G2 - how to switch between native WMR/OpenXR and SteamVR [SOLVED]

So far I’ve been flying with my Reverb G2 on 3070 with native WMR/Open XR. Not convinced by the results even after playing with OpenXR developer settings.
Is this possible to use SteamVR instead (I have Steam edition of MFS2020).

For native WMR I used the following procedure:

  1. Connect Reverb G2.
  2. Start WMR.
  3. Start MFS2020.
  4. Start a flight.
  5. Switch to VR by Ctrl-Tab.

What is the launch procedure for SteamVR?

OK - seems I figured it out.

You have to change the OpenXR driver.

Change to WMR OpenXR runtime:

  1. Download from WindowsStore “OpenXR Developer Tools for Windows Mixed Reality”.
  2. Connect your WMR headset (Reverb G2 in my case).
  3. Launch Mixed Reality Portal.
  4. Launch “OpenXR Developer Tools for Windows Mixed Reality”.
  5. Go to Home (default) tab in “OpenXR Developer Tools for Windows Mixed Reality”.
  6. Press “Set as active runtime” button.

Change to SteamVR OpenXR runtime:

  1. Install Steam (if you don’t have it already).
  2. Download “SteamVR” in Steam.
  3. Download 'Windows mixed Reality for Steam VR" in Steam.
  4. Connect your WMR headset (Reverb G2 in my case).
  5. Launch Mixed Reality Portal.
  6. Launch SteamVR in Steam.
  7. SteamVR window will apear on your monitor, click 3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner of this window, menu will appear.
  8. Click “Settings” (I’m translating the commands from Polish, these commands may be slightly different in English).
  9. Go to “Developer” (I’m translating the commands from Polish, these commands may be slightly different in English).
  10. Click “Steam VR as the OpenXR runtime” (I’m translating the commands from Polish, these commands may be slightly different in English).

Now it’s time for me to experiment with Reverb G2 and SteamVR OpenXR driver.
