Where did you get the idea that the sim uses the PC settings in VR?
Some of the PC settings are used in VR or affect VR performance. Itās not an idea, itās a fact. Turn on Frame Generation and see what happens in VR
This is a topic that I would like to refer to.
I am having trouble flying in Tokyo mod with pimax8kx and 4090 and 5800x3D.
I thought this machine would give me freedom in a completely beautiful world.
In reality, the answer was 10fps or less.
I want to at least make it a little better, Iām already exhausted, but I want to try everything.
āMotion reprojectionā comes up a lot in the Openxrtoolkit manual.
But Iām not sure where to set it.
There is an item called āsmoothingā in āpitoolā that starts Pimax, and MSFS has āmotion reprojectionā.
Is the motion reprojection discussed here(this great topic of yours) and in the manual the MSFS setting?
pitool stuff not worth considering?
As for the MSFS āPCā and āVRā items.
I donāt use MSFS for anything other than VR.
For me like this, does it make sense to set something in the āPCā item?
For example, DX12 settingsā¦
I think that the image displayed on the LCD monitor is a full copy of the VR image.
Iām worried that I might be wrong, but I believe so, so I havenāt set any PC items.
is this wrong?
is this wrong?
Thank you.
I only have the Reverb G2, so I canāt help you with the Pimax software/headset. Maybe someone else can chime in. Good luck.
Iāve had a breakthrough with my G2 that results in very nice performance without MR.
See this article in Zendesk. I turned HAGS off, disabled full screen optimizations (I have my settings on Windowed), and set my cache to min 5120 max 10240.
Headset 90hz, best visual quality, maximum resolution.
Openxr disable latest preview release, 100%, disable Prefer Framerate over latency.
Game settings DX12, Reflex On+Boost, AA DLSS Balanced, 100 AMD FX Sharpening.
Disable OpenXR Toolkit for now to keep things simple.
Choose Ultra preset in Graphics settings. This will ensure you stay GPU bound.
Nothing set in the Nvidia NCP. Restore defaults globally and per program if you are not sure.
I was getting 30ish FPS in my YMF5 (great for testing). After I found this combination of settings by reading up on Reflex, I was getting 90fps in the menu, and around 45fps in game.
3080Ti with i7 11gen.
BTW this method works in DCS as well, only with Low Latency Mode = Ultra since they are DX11.
Any issues with new nvidia driver out yesterday? I experienced black flash stutters and CTD after first use! Will roll back.
@OldpondGL holly sh⦠dude. I been struggling a lot passed week trying to get my FPS better, really struggling, i tried all i could or read⦠All i could do to get better FPS, was only using the Bell 407, thjat was the helicopter that gave me the best FPS, around 40 or so, but with way low settings, cannot remember if it was with or without MR, passed 2-3 days i was playing with the HPG H145, and this was draining quite a lot, i finaly submitted myself earlier today, pretty much all at low settings, i did not used MR as no matter what i did, with MR i was always locked at 23 FPS (22.5), if i turned MR off, i was able to get 29-30 but often drops around 25 FPS. again with almost all at low settings.
I just read the link you shared and did almost what they listed and did your settings you listed as well, with the H145, as it is the worst one i had, i went from low setting, average 26 FPS to (i did not yet tried with ultra, but only High settings) and i get 40-44 FPS, i might get a bit more if i turn some stuff i do not like, like bloom etc, but still⦠it is literally day and night.
Also using Reverb G2, RTX 3090 and Ryzen 5900x, GPU and CPU were not even close to 30% usage, i was expecting stuff to melt for me as i always struggled to get a constant 25 at worst.
Thanks
thank you.
I mimicked your setup this weekend and, surprisingly, it worked in my environment as well.
(In my case, I have turbo boost turned on.)
By the way, let me ask you a question about DLSS (for us VR users, I think this is DLSS2).
We recognize that DLSS2 is a function that has an effect when rendering at a low resolution and enlarging it to a high resolution.
As with other sampling technologies such as FSR and NIS, I think it is important to set the rendering resolution and the output resolution.
How are these settings done?
Moving the override settings in the toolkit will noticeably change the resulting video.
I think that this override setting value is originally a specification of the HMD side resolution.
Therefore, it should be scaled before display as it is different from the physical resolution on the headset side.
If DLSS is functioning at this time, it is safe, but is it different?
NIS and FSR also have override settings, so I am aware that this way of thinking is uncomfortable.
Because unless there is a very strange cooperative play on the MSFS side and the toolkit side, it is impossible to do supernatural work to adopt the override resolution as the resolution before enlargement.
Another vote for OldPondGL settings with RTX3090 and 5800x3D. Massive uptick in VR performance in helicopters, GA and airliners.
Anyone else run into issues when enabling Frame Generation? After doing so, my framerate tanked to slideshow status.
G2, Ryzen 9 7950x, FE4090 and 32GB of DDR5
The only way I found to make it play smooth is to disable Frame Generation, which seems like it should help a ton.
What you mean by Frame Generation? DLSS 3? This is not supported in VR (and probably will never be as explained by @mbucchia in separate thread on this forum). In VR similar functionality is called Motion Reprojection, you can enable it in OXR Developer tool or in OXR Toolkit.
When DLSS is turned on in VR, the display of clouds has become strange.
Both distant and near clouds sway slightly with the movement of my headset.
Unfortunately, both distant and nearby clouds sway in the same motion.
It vibrates in the same width.
Itās pretty weird for clouds a few miles away to move like that, but it gets even worse when the clouds are farther away, say, closer to the horizon.
As the clouds on the horizon sway downward, the horizon is eroded by them.
Am I the only one with this phenomenon?
When I returned to TAA100, this phenomenon disappeared immediately.
Thanks, I now realize I misread the recommendation, thinking it needed to be on. Appreciate you clarifying that!
Would someone like to run a test for me? I run DLSS Performance with DX12 and Reflex Mode On+Boost with my 3080Ti. I was getting 60fps, so I thought I would experiment. From what I read, DLSS does itās magic AFTER the image is rendered. So, I thought I would see if the Nvidia Control Panel settings for AA could make a difference. I think it looks better with these settings, but the sim has been looking so good lately I canāt be sure. Iāve got supersampling set to 8x8 in the game settings as well.
