What I did and work on my Warthog Hotas Throttle is adding a Toggle reverse button (you need to maintain it) and you push foward the throttle. When you release the button it will go back to normal propulsion so you need to play with it to get use of the timing, it will messed up the animation but you will have the same precision before SU7 … I tried the decrease button but the delay is 2 sec and you have no precision how fare you go…
I can’t get anything to work…using King Air 350 and can’t get reverse.
What peripherals are you using, what commands have you tried? Decrease Thurst has been working fine for me on the King Air
yes they are really focus on it to fixing bugs i hope they do that!
Your issue is in the instructions. Try this:
- Back throttle down to 0.
- Press button(hold for 2 seconds w/the way I’ve mapped it to my HOTAS)
- DO NOT touch any throttle inputs until you’ve stopped or are fine with what your wheel brakes can do for you to stop.
Done. You moving the throttle is disengaging the RT. It works fine. I’ve touched down 4X today in the 78X. Flawless each time.
Just to be clear…using this method you can back up, right, not just stop.
Any reverse thrust if applied for long enough will stop you and then start to push you back.
Dec thrust is a fixed value though. With ‘toggle reverse thrust’ you could/can control the amount of reverse thrust via the normal throttle axis. Some folk want that. Personally I only ever use it to reduce speed on the landing roll.
I did not read every single comment on here to see if anyone mentioned the F2 button on the PC keyboard, but that works for me to reverse thrust on the Boeing 787. Set the throttle to zero, hold the F2 button, then tap the throttle to disengage. I am not sure how this is working because throttle reverse is not mapped to anything on the default keyboard settings.
This is exactly what im going through. #pc
Yes no reverse working on any aircraft except FBW A320 thank god! I just tried and it works perfectly after calibration on the pad. (PC - Thrustmaster TCA&stick)
Yes of course it works on keyboard but no immersion at all!
I have the same issue as you guys. Assigning a key to “decrease throttle” is a little help. But i liked it better the way it worked before sim update 7.
Greetings from Belgium
Totally agree. As a beginner, I wonder how decrease throttle can replace reverse thrust.I am also amazed that Microsoft and Asobo didn’t spot this. Until they fix it I am stuck with a sub standard simulator. Game of the year? I don’t think so.
I have the same issue - reversers not working on A320Neo, 747 and 787 and the GA planes with reversers I’ve tested. I’ve helped myself with full throttle and then hold reverse thrust, although it’s far from optimal.
Just wanted to try the workaround, but the game just now froze on me on approach to Chicago O’Hare (no CTD, just still image with sound). Pity, I was nicely configured for landing… oh well.
The reverse thrust issue to me is the worst in the multitude of bugs introduced with SU7, among them:
- CTD and freeze, in both cases on approach. Never had any crash or freeze before SU7
- ATC gives me landing clearance then tells me to go around immediately, this happens almost on every first landing now. On the upside, I get to go around and practice landings a ton
- After every landing there is the same flight logged twice in the logbook, the second one with 0:00 duration.
I’m a software developer myself, so I know how tricky this stuff can be, however some of these bugs are pretty detrimental to the core experience so I’m hoping fixes will be on the way soon.
I love MSFS 2020, but it’s definitely giving me a bit of a headache right now.
Same here - I have been trying to figure it out!
At least im not the only one that’s experiencing this!
I suggest trying the workaround on the runway before you take off. Practice it there. Get it down then fly. It’s quite easy once you have it down.
Before everybody said this is a bug after latest update,i thought it is something wrong with my x56 throttle and push the reverse button too hard force and even broke my x56 ! OMG.
My axis throttle with quadrant are not right in settings when i move them how can I fix it ? Thank you

Brief description of the issue:
Prior to Sim Update 7, toggling button on Yoke when flying 787 would activate reverse thrust (using throttle lever), but now unresponsive. Tried re-assigning switch, but same result. Reverse thrust works only when using a muse to move the levels manually.
