Do you have Liverpool airport by Digital Design perchance? I had a CTD the first time I loaded there, then I tried on a different parking ramp and it worked fine. I believe that hasnāt been yet patched for Sim Update 5.

Thinking of buying it now. The package seems to offer wide coverage of believable landmarks (though not accurate representations) at a low cost with minimal fps effect. I think itās just what iām after for simming in the UK.

Sorry, this is totally off topic, but where do you got these piers from? I did find some individual uk piers on flightsim.to, bu no complete package.
Iād actually like to know that as well. I looked to test the CTD, but couldnāt find it.
Sorry, the UK Peirs on .to are the ones i meant. I just have them all in one āpackageā as such for Addon Linker so i can turn them all off or on in one go.

Yup, i just checked out BBC Media City again, approaching at below 1000ft and several of the colourful buildings in a group of about 6 didnāt spawn in until they were literally 200ft in from and below me.
I then flew up to Blackpool from Liverpool and the huge roller coaster did exactly the same thingā¦ popped in at the last second. (just to note, i get none of general scenery object popping in that lots have suffered from since SU 5)
Guess i need to sign up at the Orbx forum and report it.
Quite a few posts about all manner of objects popping in very late in a thread on the Orbx forum. Be aware before you buy this is a definite issue at the moment .
Also i just approached St James Park in Newcastle that didnāt pop in at all and i was suddenly shot up to 9000ft like a rocket! Never seen anything like it 
Got myself down slowly to 1000ft again, made the same approach to the stadium, which was visible as an object this time. Almost right above it and went into rocket mode again, straight up to 9000ft.
Definitely some issues with this one. Hope they fix them soon.
itās an issue with all add-ons at the momentā¦ and Asoboās own scenery haha.
They updated how LOD are handled in SU5 and apparently they didnāt tell anyone, even themselves

I got this addon and itās alright. Nice variety of things included but the quality is a bit of a mixed bag really like for example the Menai Suspension bridge looks pretty good but then down the channel the Britannia Bridge looks a bit pants with a lot lower texture resolution.
I also noticed a bit of a difference in 3d modelling with some things such as Conwy Castleās crenellations arenāt really fully modelled, theyāre just 2d rectangles but then Lancaster castle seemed to have fully 3d modelled crenellations (could be mistaken there though as I didnāt examine Lancaster castle as closely as I did Conwy). Bit of a minor nitpick really and not noticeable unless you get in really close but itās a bit weird how the modelling and texture standards vary quite a bit across different scenery objects. Also a shame they didnāt include Bamburgh Castle.
For 12 quid you get a pretty decent number of objects though to enhance your low and slow flying so overall I reckon itās pretty good.
The comparison is made just purely on a model quality level for that specific example. Just pointing out freeware vs payware. I dunno - thereās not really any competitor to this add-on so I gave examples of what I might expect from other add-ons that do a similar thing. Maybe that was wrong, this is why I donāt do reviews.

I would like to clear up that I donāt have anything against Orbx. Maybe I gave that impression because like I say - I felt a little let down by this package and the area is very close to me. Suffice to say, I have far more scenery in my library than probably most users by Orbx and this specific instance wonāt stop me from buying any. Orbx is one of the first scenery devs I recommend to anyone purchasing scenery, including my latest YT video aimed squarely at someone who is in fact purchasing scenery for the first time.

Well, Iām glad to hear that, because Iāve seen a lot of most unjustified hostility toward them lately (theyāre not perfect and they should up their airport game, but itās getting a bit too much).
What came out that way is the ājust checking a thread I put on the Orbx forums earlier today about this addon and yeah, typically for Orbx theyāre more or less turning any blame away from themselvesā¦ straight away, dear oh dearā smug grin I actually went to look for that thread to see what egregious response may have caused that perception, but I simply saw them answering questions and no real deflection.
But regardless of that, ultimately freeware addons and payware addons cannot be compared (besides simple preference, I guess) because theyāre made under very different conditions.
There certainly are quite a few freeware addons that are fantastic and even better than payware, because freeware devs can put into them all the time they want, as itās their own time, made outside of any budget consideration.
Payware companies need to allocate limited time and resources to fit a budget that will result into them turning a profit because ultimately their primary goal is to feed their employees, so they operate under constraints that freeware devs donāt have.
For instance, Iāve been helping a friend making a freeware addon (which I canāt talk about haha) lately, and Iāve spent on Photoshop so many nights that would have been completely unacceptable if I was actually doing it as part of a professional engagement. The cost of the man hours would have likely been overbudget for the project, and not just by a little bit
Mind you, this doesnāt mean that stuff like completely outdated runways or taxiways due to lack of required research is ok. Thereās this, and then thereās that.

Please donāt take what I said out of context. If you did read that thread you would have seen me later apologize for misinterpreting what formed the basis of one of my points of feedback. This followed after the stream when I had realized my error. Hence my perception of this during the stream.

Orbx EU great britain central.
Iāve just plunged and bought it.
I am absolutely over the moon.
I come from Bradford and frequently visit Liverpool.
They have got absolutely every land mark for vfr flying
Liverpool center looks absolutely Bob on.
Blackpool now looks like Blackpool.
Bradford and Leeds are like flying over the actual place.
Even Emley Moor mast is there.
I seriously canāt fault it.

It were always raining in Emley Moor, except on days when it were fine; and there werenāt many of those - not if you include drizzle as rain. And even if it werenāt drizzling, it were overcast and there were a lot of moisture in the air. Youād come home as though it had been raining, even though there had been no evidence of precipitation in the rain gauge outside the town hall.

And the tallest free standing structure in Europe.
Iām surprised that asbo didnāt include it.
Also the add on has Bradfords famous lister mill.
Iāve actually deleted the folder that I had from the community.
I saved it, to add them later.
But now I donāt need to.
Iām a very happy Northerner
